You’re right Fil, there’ll always be idiotic responses like the one above when folk are proven wrong about something.
Almost forgetting we were beaten 2-0 yesterday by Gillingham in Division One!
Tavernier and Waghorn are too good for Division One and will be playing in the top division in Scotland in front of 50000 next season. Good move for them both.Who has been proven wrong and about what?, grow up man! if you think the standard of football in the Scottish championship is any higher than league one in England you’re a bigger numpty than I thought. Did you think we wouldn’t, or shouldn’t, get beat in league One? This will be a hard league make no mistake, there will be no gimmies. I would have taken a point yesterday before KO.
Losing 2-0 to Gillingham is nothing to be shamed of, that’s unless your a JCL. There is also nothing to make me feel that having “Tavs and Waggs” in the team would have changed the result yesterday. Both those players flattered to deceive during their stay with us, not impressing the people who managed them day in day out enough for them to hold down a regular spot in a poor performing Championship team.Just remember, Rangers where favs to go into the Scots Premiership last season and failed, does that sound familiar to you?
To slate a game where someone like Kenny Miller played who’s scored more goals than our last dozen ‘strikers’ could dream of is a bit rich and not to mention dismissive just because Tav and Wags played in it and are doing well. It’s you who should grow up pal. If your posts aren’t blue tinted they’re riddled with green eyed undertones. To answer Bigroy, my thinking, call it logic if you like is that Tavernier was promoted the last 2 seasons from Division One, getting player of the year first time around with Rotherham and was given hardly any chance by our previous (sacked)
managers. Waghorn I always liked and he scored goals regularly, despite not getting a run in the team due to our previous (sacked) managers.
The fact that Mark Warburton, a manager admired by many (not to mention successful at Championship level) wanted them as some of his first signings for one of the biggest clubs in Europe no matter what division their in, seems to back up my view, that they’ll probably play a big part in next years Premier League in Scotland.
Hope that get’s my opinion across, backed up by some logic, rather than snide unneccasary comments and some references to crowds of 1200.For the record I remember watching Fyvie play most of the previous seasons pre-season and looking improved, hungry and talented, only to be left out in the cold once the season started.
Think I must watch a different game. Let’s start with Tavernier. After being loaned out to no less than 7 clubs in the last 4 years not one decided to sign him (no not Rotherham or Bristol city strangely) and he now finds himself playing at his worst standard yet against the part timers of Dumbarton and Raith. He was poor when he played for us and looked out of his depth at times. He may well do a job in that league but don’t give me this shite that it’s a step up! Waghorn on the other hand was average at best. 7 goals in 29 appearances for us with the final straw being a senseless red which nailed our relegation at millwall last year. Hardly a world beater and certainly no better than what we have. In fact it’s easy to make a case for Griggs recent record being far more impressive so unsure what the problem is. My reference to 1200 was logical as it was based on a fact of the numbers attending games in that division on Saturday. Major surprise is you haven’t mentioned Delort scoring again on Saturday. Now there’s a man who could score for fun! The brain surgeons are out again! How does this make them too good for Division one? You only need to look at the turnover of clubs in the Scottish Championship to see that it’s a far poorer standard than that of English League One. Hardly impressive that a couple of ex rejects are banging a few in! It’s not even a full time professional league which is further emphasised by the fact that the attendances of the other clubs that played on Saturday averaged 1200 fans. Fyvie struggled to get in our development side ffs. Looking at the comments below doesn’t seem like he will be missed! Credit where it’s due. We were as good tonight as we have been as awful first two games. Davies made a massive difference as an outlet up front and the other ten players looked decent. Scunthorpe were bloody awful but certainly feeling more positive than Sunday! Would love to feel the same but to suggest that zero goals against teams that finished well in the bottom half last year is a good sign is surely deluded. It’s not simply kamikaze defending that worries me. It’s the fact in the last 3 games I’ve watched us we appear to have such a limited goal threat. The keeper is a worry to me and looks a poorer standard than what we have seen for years. He appears to have little presence in the area, stays on his line, punches rather than catches and looks uncomforatble with the ball at his feet. The saves mentioned were caused initially by him staying on his line too long and flapping at a high ball. It’s amazing to see the sign of the quality to come? I think I must be watching a different team. Can only hope I feel the same soon! Shite again. Hardly any goal threat, dodgy defence, hesistant keeper, 33-1 odds on relegation looks a great price. Looks like a fuckin masterstroke this fella being put in charge! Absolute joke. A predictable response when you realise your wrong Tez. Anyway. Where were we? Let’s remember the good old days when Delort and Riera were firing us up the league! 2 players remained did theyWell I know of one who’s still there you didn’t include. I’ll give you a clue, he’s still there, playing regularly and used to play for us. MENSA graduate As thick as ever! He wasn’t there in the first place! Not sure you’re understanding the post. This refers to the team that started the first League One game compared to the team that was relegated at Brighton. Didn’t include Dicko as at that point he wasn’t at Wolves. He signed for them almost 5 months later. Afraid Ya need to get out of bed earlier son! Wolves team that was relegated from Championship: De Vries, Doherty, Gorkss, Johnson, Elokobi, Sako, Henry, O’Hara, Doumbia, Dicko, Doyle. Wolves team that started life in League One: Ikeme, Rickets, Doherty, Stearman, Batth, Sako, Evans, Sigurdarson, Davies, Evans, Griffiths. Two players remained. If your confident I’ll wager 5k we aren’t playing in Leigh within 5 years. What we’d have given for one of them yesterday, good player that Delort and against one of the top sides tooOh Aye. Superb. Set the world on fire for us and would have run riot in League One. See Leon Clarke scored for Bury and Bingham for Hartlepool. Oh what we would have given for another couple yesterday. Come to think of it wheres Zaki these days? Where’s Scotland? Rieras probably banged in 3 against Barca. Regrets regrets regrets! So that’s 3 goals in his last 26 games. Afraid Sharpes talk about smashing the league is looking rather foolish already. Given the turnaround in staff it’s almost laughable that we have trusted a man with little or no experience in Caldwell to make such huge decisions which may well decide the short term success at the club given the contracts signed. I can’t believe I’m saying this but Im starting to believe our best chance of success this season will be getting Holt fit! I was at game and though football was good we lacked creativity, cutting edge and didn’t have a shot on target did we? Forwards on show looked poor. 3-0 was undoubtedly harsh but unfortunately you don’t win games on posession percentages!
