Agree.

i was disappointed Hugo didnt go off for Sammon against spurs.

Hugo did not have his best game for us but is the only one who has a goal in him

It is not very often when a club has been bashed by the media so much about impending relegation, that actually their fate lies in their own hands.

As is the case with us.

Ok we may go down, but if we do. Then it is because we deserve to as our up and coming games are there to be won and if we do, simply we are staying up.

Other teams do not have this luxury; we have!

7 games to go in which Blackpool / Villa / West Ham and even Sunderland are all in the relegation. beating just 3 of these could see us stay up.

Our performances of late are to be applauded as we could have thrown in the towel weeks ago if we’d believed what was being written about us.

I believe 3 points at blackpool, villa and west ham games are going to happen. i also think we’ll pick up points at sunderland and stoke. (which will make for quite an experience at the Brittania if that happens)
That will keep us up.

One thing to be said for us, after losing 9-1 and 3-0 last season against the world champions spurs…… beating them over 2 games 1-0 and not conceeding, youahve to be proud of the lads.

How do you work that out???? we are bottom of the table and more than likely going to get relegated. What do you suggest an open top bus round the town so we can show them how proud we are of them and the manager

Cheers Tydesley the same thought had crossed my mind but god forbid we should show our tactical naivety and lack of football knowledge and question Bob.

The best young manager in Europe you know. :eusa-liar: :eusa-liar: :eusa-liar:

connor reminds me of phil daley not the greatest of touches and a bit raw but puts himself about and has loads of enthusiasm, makes great runs and will do for me.

He makes good runs is quite quick and certainly causes problems with his physical presence. He also seems to have the ability to make good runs and gets in very good positions.

The question is can he finish????? he has shown enough to suggest he could be a good signing

I read on the club’s FB page that Steve McMillan is making half-time appearance.

Do you reckon he can make it out onto the pitch without getting injured? :? [/quote

No chance

A bit of a useless topic IMO as a lot will depend on which Division we are in. As depending on what League we are in will depend on who will stay and who we can afford to bring in.

Wind your neck in Hindley, I didn’t mean you, or anyone else who goes regularly. ;)

I meant the ones who think we have to be playing like Real Madrid and tonking everyone 6-0 each week before they’ll put their hand in their pocket for £15 to “support” the club.

As you have said many times before, those that pay and go every week have the right to moan and voice their opinion however they see fit. Doesn’t make ’em right, mind you ;)

Sorry Griff I had just finished a git of a night shift and may have needed a chill pill before turning on the computer.

The main aim of a football match is to win it.
No one really cares how you get there it’s all about the result, ask Birmingham who won the Carling Cup.
Throw into the mix the fact that it’s like watching paint dry no wonder our crowds are a disgrace. But hey he’s doing a great job.

And there’s me, thinking being a fan is all about supporting your club through thick and thin. Yes, you can rant about the management, the players and the administration but you still go to watch.

Unless you are trying to use all the above as an excuse for not putting your hand in your pocket to watch the team you purport to support at one of the cheapest football grounds in the land.
Season ticket holder since before we left Springfield Park Presidents club member so I do support the club.

It would help if the product was exciting.

I’ve been a ST holder for 15 years now and I wake up on a Saturday morning wanting any excuse not to go as I’m usually bored sh*tless by 3.05pm. Obviously I do go and will continue to do so, but it’s more out of blind faith than anything else.

Nobody is going to turn up once with the cheap tickets and want to pay full price for some of the sh*te we’re being served up.

You get bored five minutes into a game? You really must have an attention span disorder Egg.

Have you not been bored in previous seasons watching aerial tennis?
I cannot agree – Whelan has tried every offer to get the crowds up free kids with every adult he has tried a few times and we still could not get the crowd over 16k

Wigan are constantly giving tickets away to local football teams – the kids up our road have had 2 a year

We are still one of the cheapest clubs in the country including lower divisions.

It does not matter how cheap you make it we struggle to attract the support as we are unfashionable.

At the end of the day there are loads of offers that you can take up – but the club cannot just keep putting the prices further and further down as it does not make financial sense and is unfair on the season ticket holders

I challenge you to find another club where you can get an adult and 2 kids for £50

When you go to the match you want A) to be entertained and B) see your team win.

You could let people in for free and we wont fill the ground if we get beat all the time

How can it be selfish to want the club to continue to survive for many years, at whatever level, rather than survive for a year or two more in the premiership and then go bust?

I think it’s YOU who is being selfish, wanting nothing but premiership football. We can’t continue at this level. Have you not read the financial report and seen the basic facts?

But no. The Premiership is all important, isn’t it?

Sod off. Tosser.

Vat we get £40m in the Premier League our wages take roughly 90% of that agreed??? If we go down the parachute payments are half that I think??? So the wage bill may be slashed but so will our turnover from T.V and crowds so how the fook will we be better off???

We have won FIVE yes Five games this season how the fook can you come on here defending this knob???
