He is a bit greedy, there were several times last night he could have played an easy first ball but decided to run at players.

Is it me or is Zog the only player with a left foot who is ineffective on the left wing? Much prefer him on the right.

beyond contrary belief, HRMC are very reasonable (I don’t work for the HMRC but have dealt with them previously) A pay structure could have been arranged before the season started, however it was declined. Because of this, HMRC want £4M now and the rest over a payment plan….not unreasonable really from HMRC perspective.

Someone has made a lot of money out of Portsmouth….I fear the worst for them.

Doom and gloom merchants. I actually have a different take on this…

We were excellent first half and if it wasn’t for some very good defensive blocks by Stoke, we would have been a couple up. We should have killed the game off in the first half!

Second half – If McCarthy came out of the tunnel without an injury, we would have won the game, but he didn’t. Martinez then has the problem of replacing McCarthy…but who does he choose??

Moses – not a midfield player who will go putting tackles in and finding the defining passes
            Stojkovic – goalkeeper
Melchiot – not a midfield player
Thomas – A ball winner…but we already have Sharner and Diame on the pitch
Gomez – A midfielder with potential to tackle and seek a pass but is struggling with form
Sinclair – I really don’t know what to make of this lad…
Moreno – not a midfield player who will go putting tackles in and finding the defining passes

Shuffling the pack a little was probably something to do with this?? I think Bob would have been a bit nervous and try an play it safe. If we had won the last 3 games then he would have probably put Moses on and moved things around to be a bit more attacking…but with Stoke pressing, we didn’t want to loose the game.

I think Bob knows what he needs in the summer. We have bought some firepower, some defence (which is really starting to take shape and work – Caldwell and Bramble work!) He now knows that Gomez is struggling so he will get another “McCarthy” and release Koumas (another creative midfield failure)

I really see us progressing…make no mistake, if Bruce would have been in charge, we would be very close (in either direction) to where we are now. Some people are really disillusioned on here.

Think if you were a Burnly fan (a club who is almost identical to us in regards to support and resources) just brought in Brian Laws and haven’t won a game yet, or Owen Coyle with notlob…won nowt, Wolves – beaten 2-0 by us at their place, or Portsmouth – at the bottom with a winding up order, or Sunderland, 40,000 fans promised the world at the beginning of the season and are down in the thick of it with us.

WE ARE NOT REAL MADRID OR MAN U……

We seem to have lost our way when McCarthy went off. Overall, a scrappy game. I did note that we can’t seem to find a pass or do simple things.

I know I am going to get shot down for this but I thought Scotland played well.

We moved from 442 to 4321 after McCarthy went off. I would have like to have seen Watson/Gomez come on for McCarthy and Victor alongside Scotland taking Rodders off….

              ….controversial I know :o

Ha, well, I was out and about round the locals at the weekend and seen loads of scouser tops….so for fun, I decided to wind a few of them up.

…everyone of them had a Wigan accent. I said why scousers? support your local team and they said that I support a load of whale…..

…I said I would rather eat a load of whale that support a load of scousers.

…..Think I might walk round Wigan when the world cup is on with a Germany top on…..wonder if anyone will say anything to me???? ;)

                      well, you will be banned.

I have to say, I was disappointed with the result at the weekend but really impressed with James McCarthy. With Hugh, Moses, McCarthy, Diame and N’Zogbia – the future is looking good.

The Fulham thing….Someone down here told me that match tickets for Fulham home games are bundled in with touristy stuff “A London Tour with English Premiership Match” He said you normally see loads of Japanese tourists in the ground.

…never seen them myself but hey!

Cant see Wigan tourist board doing the same

some good points there VAT but why spend £5M on a player when you “think” you can get a better player for less but is just as good?

Some signings haven’t lived up to expectations, but I can guarantee they haven’t lived up to Bob’s either. He could have bout £5M or £6M players but would it have been different?

This season is a bit of a strange one, there are 10 or 11 teams who are not playing great but pull off a couple of results…I mean, when was the last time the top 4 lost so many games??

Stick by it, I can see improvements from the Wolves at home game up to now – last night for instance, when did we (in any point before the Notts county match) have the ability to come from behind. You used to see players heads drop after the first goal, now there is a bit of fight.

After seeing Figgs last night for their second goal, he looked a bit distressed, one of the guys in the office said that he thought Figgs had a wager on Blackburn winning.

Keep the faith…things are good at the club and how it is run….don’t be deluded by the anti-WAFC brigade

                                Top post Standish…

I don’t get this Whelan slagging off. We buy a player for £1M we sell for £14M…..

lets put it another way, you buy a car for a £1000, you look really good in it but the running costs are killing you. Someone offers you £14,000….do you:

                                (a) Keep the car, you do look good in it and you can go really fast but the way your going, you won’t be able to eat because of the running costs (which you are now putting on your credit card and increasing your debt)…are ruining your life

                                Or

                                (b) You sell the car for a profit, you get a smaller car in the meantime but you are able to feed and cloth yourself and pay off debts….and maintain a good quality life.

Until all of our 76,000 supporters fit into our 76,000 seater stadium then we will continue to dismantle teams and rebuild them whilst trying to stay in the prem…….simples

If you don’t like it, buy a season ticket for Man City next year and get real turn-ons when they spend £30M for a player (who turns out to be shit) but don’t have to sell anyone first…..
