The players leaving are not quality IMO.
And yet they have both attracted interest from Premier League clubs.
McClean has great skills and terrific stamina. He is willing to run and run – in both attack and defence. I’m sure a good coach could harness these talents.
Lambert must be desperate to sign holt!
I do actually like mcClean for reasons you say. But his crossing / shooting is some of the worst you will see.not looking good
january sales about to start at the DW stadium ,clearing the deck geting shut of the high earners
typical minimum wage whelan ,this reminds me of when he brought steve bruce in for the first stint
cleared out the dead wood high earners then buggerd off
when the quality players are sold what wil we have left forget promotion lets be a midtable side
i just started to go back watching after a couple of seasons out looked good
but guess ill wait now untill a new owner takes over fooking hate whelanSo you’d be happy if whelan took us down the same road as notlob? The players leaving are not quality IMO. We are at a crossroads and can only hope things work out for us. Fair to say we have punched above our weight for the last 8 years or so.
Go on then. Last 3 years. Give me some worse defeats than a 3-0 against Championship relegation fodder?
We may play like an average championship side but our best starting eleven should be more than a match for anyone in this league.
Fine, I’ll bite some more even though you’ve conveniently limited the “several years” time range to “a few years ” to avoid results such as the 9-1 vs Spurs.
Blackpool H: 4-0
Chelsea H: 6-0
Palace A: 2-1
Swindon A: 2-1
Wolves A: 3-1SWANSEA H: 3-2 !!!
Zulte H: 2-1Don’t forget that all 3 bottom clubs won this weekend vs. tough opposition. This league is wide open – get used to it and enjoy it. :)
The defeat to derby at home should be on your list also….
The cynic in me would say uwe did his mate a favour.
Team selection was the main issue for me, then tictacs. This games was such a contrast from what we have seen so far.
That said, maybe I am doing Doncaster an injustice, poor side yes, but got their tactics spot on yesterday.Assume they do the stones for all winners, but what a great gesture from the FA. Bet dave is chuffed.
we’ve sold over 1500 tickets for this game.
And then we give ’em a shite performance !!! :( :( :(
I know, that should take a few hundred off the next away day!
I don’t think I’ve seen a game as bad this season? We didn’t learn from when we played them at our place. Doncaster are a rough side and give you no time on the ball. Was surprised to see Watson & Gomez in the middle, there’s not a tackle in either of them.
hope we don’t adopt that long ball hoof up field for anymore games!
Some strikers need a foyle and others cope well enough on their own, that’s the way it is ! Just saying ! Holt looked a decent signing on paper but if the truth be known his form had dipped somewhat from his heyday !Think most of us thought holt was a decent signing. I spoke to a Norwich fan shortly after signing him and his words were, “you can have him cos he’s s—-. Said he was living on the back of one good season for them. A Forrest fan shortly after said exactly the same thing.
Suppose this signing (as bad as it was) shows whelan was prepared to back coyle. Thankfully he had the good sense to get rid of him sharpish.Received an email from the club this morning advising we’ve sold over 1500 tickets for this game. Thought we’d have taken more than this. You can pay on the day also, might just get close to 2k?
We are by far a better team with Powell in it. Yesterday he seemed to be popping up everywhere, it looked like there were 5 Nick Powells on the pitch. I have not seen a bead of sweat on him yet and his miles per match must be the highest in all four divisions.
Plays with a smile and a swagger, just like all the great footballers do.Lazy?……no way, this lad will be the next big thing at OT. God knows what he’ll be like in 2-3 years time.
We do need him and he has been vital in some of the games this season. Not sure i agree with your comment above, the lad just can’t shoot straight!
IMO – no way he is good enough for the MUFC team.Heard he was on tonight, wonder if he wears his shorts :)
He’s strong and has got a bit of pace about him. He will be a good loan signing for us.
Not long though a month.
I didn’t realise it was for such a short period we had him! Uwe mustn’t know much about the lad then, assuming we can extend the loan period if he likes him.too much money has been wasted last couple of seasons on players not upto it
squad is too big
so i see this season now as one where uwe will have to sort out the squad with cut backs
and so on
no players will be bought as uwe already stated loans only, which tells me rest of this season is just a sorting out process
probably just missing out on the play offs
next season uwe after sorting out this mess left by coyle and getting rid of bobs deadlegs
i think we will go for promotionSorry to disagree but I’m lumping on us making the play offs.
The mess can still be sorted out whilst the team is getting right on the field. My worry is if we miss out on promotion and fall away like many teams before us have, with better history. Get in that prem league and players will see us as a better proposition than one satisfied with a mediocre championship team.
This is not built on hopes, it’s taking into account where we are having had a crap manager, been side tracked by European trips, had more than our fair share of injuries and having a new manager with a different way of playing.
Very much agree JR. This league, although entertaining and tight, is not packed with quality and I think we should at least make the play off’s. Whelan & Uwe are two shrewd movers, they will loan and buy at the right time.
He’s strong and has got a bit of pace about him. He will be a good loan signing for us.
Awful game today yet won 3-0 ! I got the impression that they were told to drop a little deeper after taking a 1-0 lead ! How small was there keeper !!Middle of the road game really, wasn’t edge of your seat stuff and the result makes it look convincing. There were times in this game when it looked like a matter of time before Bournemouth would scored. But then there times when we looked very comfortable. Suppose that is credit to our defence.
Bit of a shame the teams above us all picked up points, only moved up one place!Main thing I miss is the TV coverage. Knowing we would be on Sky highlights for an hour (and once a season game of the day), whereas now to see the goals it’s watching SSN for ages just in case. The TV coverage is a big loss, especially for the away games. But, that said, I ain’t missing it at all. Great to be going to games with expectations of winning again.
That said, I do hope we get promoted this year :) -
