There you go:
First up a 20 year old
Danson has now nailed his colours to the Blue and White mast, not out of sympathy; but out of the realisation that Wigan Athletic is a brand that covers the globe !!!
If there is any sympathy, it will be for the Egg Brigade; because without a ground to rent, the Cuckoos would inevitably face eviction from the administrators
I’m with you Italia !
They will still be the Cuckoo Warriors, in a nest that is owned by the 100% owner of the Latics (a football team, if anybody has not noticed)
It’s a bit like cards: Our owner trumps their part owner and therefore takes precedence over any Egg Vs Round Ball conversations.
Correction; a football club owner (with a stadium), who has nominal shares in an alternative minority regionalised game; who will continue to charge them rent
Many people are assuming that there is an ulterior motive.
Let’s re-think the facts a little bit.
Mr Danson reportedly had a £10m bid knocked back for the Cuckoo’s in Feb 2021.
He didn’t pursue it any further; why. Maybe he saw Pollard as being greedy ?Mr Danson was reportedly a Manchester United Fan in his younger years.
So without doubt he has got some leaning towards the sport.
Latics have developed their own brand and come a long long way since those days and have built a much higher profile that the Egg men.So let’s say he has bid that same £10m for the Latics plus the stadium, for a Wigan team.
That now satisfies his pride in being a born Wiganer and putting something back into the local community. The flip side is, that he now has a better deck of cards than Pollard and that Pollard will perceive him as a threat; hoping that Pollard will crumble and lower his silly aspirations and sell, thus achieving what Mr Whelan never did (owning both clubs).
So ironically it came to pass that the owner of Wigan Athletic buys the Warriors.
Yes that is acceptable in my book, as the Chubbies choke on their humble pie
As the saying goes, “tomorrow never comes”
Yes I agree with you CW.
Our ST money alone won’t save our club.
I like your analogy with the empty vending machine
Looks like it’ll be Irongate (or whatever it’s fancy names is now) for us next season Lostock…
The mother in law lives 5 min walk away so no parking issues…
Is that near Telford ? or am I mistaken ?
No Papa, there is a clue in the names, Leyland Latic & Lostock Hall Latics. Suggest you try Bamber Bridge
And yes, I could probably walk it in 20/25 mins. It’s not so much about supporting the club with your money but more about losing it if we did go into Administration.
The new season ticket money won’t save our club if they walk away that’s for sure. That’s the sole reason I’ve not renewed, once I see us moving in a forward direction and this outstanding wages issue is behind us only then will I think about getting one
Yes CW, that is exactly my point
I have followed this club for 55 years, and even under the dark days of Bill Kenyon we always believed that there was a brighter future. Now, it feels like the sun is finally setting over Springfield Park
Another Charlie here
Nearly 15:30pm in Bahrain and nowt’s happened.
Have the remainder of the wages even been paid ?I notice that the EB deadline has been extended yet again; now 12th May @ 11:59pm
However, I think Bullitt has a fair point; so I think it’s sit back and watch things develop !
Lostock if it happens it’s away games only
Until we get decent owners with our own stadium
If it happensI’m with you on this one, big time !
Who care about the spelling; just up the Foo kers!
