I know what your saying though and i’d agree if he had a partner up front but on himself he doesn’t hack it in my opinion.
Think about £3 to £4 million would be tidy business considering we originally paid not much more than that for his services.

£28 isn’t a discount, should it be £20? Can understand the kids free but seems strange to advertise an offer alongside the obvious that an adult can get in for £28?

Tend to agree, he did a job as part of a strike force but on his own with the ball being passed around in midfield without any penetration, he is next to useless.
If we keep the same system might as well get the cash to fund someone who can play that role. I don’t know anyone who can score goals, while the ball is being passed around midfield till we get fed up and gift the ball away.
There’s always Figueroa from the half way line.
1 goal in 22 in the championship. Thats about our standard of player at the moment. It lists him as a striker but must play more wide.
Apart from maybe Jewell (who left of his own accord) he’s never invested so many positive comments on a manager and basically said he is unsackable.( i.e. he stays if we go down).
I know he said a few months ago he wasn’t scared of sacking Martinez but it would be going against everything he has been saying and make him look a bit foolish.
Just making a point that you can make a fist of things with championship players mostly. Its down to the motivational side and confidence to a certain degree.
Maybe we do need to go down and clear out the deadwood and start again. I think some of the poor performances fans berate, are more annoying because other teams tend to show more desire and overall effort in my opinion. Add to that a system our team consistently fails to master and you get the amount of mistakes that we see week in week out.
I don’t know whether another manager would improve our situation but maybe a change in thinking from our manager might.
How do explain the likes of Norwich and Swansea then who have come up with Championship players then?
Could it just be they are being managed better. Could that ever be a possibility for a Lightsider?

Only those who are/were privy to the objectives that Bob has been set will know whether Whelan’s wishes are being carried out. Or maybe with the Villa situation where Bob pledged his allegiance, Dave might feel embarrassed or at least uncomfortable with the idea he’d have to go back on all the things he said after Bob pledged his allegiance. Maybe a bit too proud to admit that the man he has backed is probably not the answer after all.

Its the system we play aswell, putting our defence under pressure.
The first goal yesterday was Mac’s handball. The second was a sublime free kick and the third James McCarthy was tracking back and just got left by his man and was nowhere to be seen when the shot was let go.
So it’s not just the defences responsibility. I know they have their faults but this is a team game.
