John Terry has lost the England Captain’s armband.
Capello has already phoned Wayne Bridge to ask if it’s under the bed!
Was reading up on Moses, didn’t know his parents were murdered  … Also Moreno was the first foreigner to be part of the Brazilian youth team and u20 team, theres a fact for ya ;)Someone was telling me that as a small child he also witnessed the murder. It’s one thing being orphaned, but quite another seeing your parents killed in front of you. Dont know if it’s true, but he’s had a pretty tough start in life.
You wouldn’t be able to sit with said brother/wife/dad/friend though cos most seats together are taken.Got to agree with that 100%. I’ve never taken advantage of any offers because my seat is surrounded by other ST holders. If I’m going to bring someone else to a game I’d want them sitting with us.
I’d create a family ticket for the South, or even a family ST.
work permit?Does the fact that he’s played at Werder Bremen previously mean he already has the credentials?
I would also imagine that if he is a regular for his national side then it’s a formality.
I don’t usually indulge in rumour and speculation, but I overheard someone at the match today (an ex-player) saying that Moses was at the Wrightington Country Club this morning.
For those that don’t know that’s where Latics always put players/visitors up.
I’m gradually losing the will to live with this thread.
I mean you just couldn’t make it up could you, although actually, Loudmouthblue probably did make it all up.
Let me take this very slowly for you LMB.
You reckon you went to a game in Norwich that we lost 4-1 and you can’t remember what the weather was like ‘that night’.
The score was 3-2 to them. It was an afternoon kick off and there was light rain, at least after the game anyway.
I know this because I really was there!Let the cull commence.
i am so sorry for not remembering every last detail about a game,or in this case very little about it, i was working in norwich as i said and went to that game and i dont give a fig if anyone believes me or not,it would have been easy to look on a norwich site to check facts if it was my intention to try and mislead or lie about something, whatever anyone may think of me its not my style, and as i said before i do remember how poor we were.
oh and why i am here please show me where i said the blackburn fan was a mate- but his opinion must be far less than a solicitor or former darwin fc coach if he is to be used in the same way as you accuse me of doing.[/quote]
Come on LMB, you have to face it, if you can’t remember the score why would your recollection of the performance be any more accurate?
I remember thinking we weren’t that bad and appeared to be playing at about 80%. I also remember thinking that I should stick a few quid on Norwich for promotion and then they went and lost 7-0 in their opening game!
Oh and whilst I am here, you’ll find I didn’t ever refer to your Blackburn fan/mate.

I always wanted to be one of the Tomorrow People. Always thought that I might wake up one day and discover I too had special powers and could ‘jaunt’ to anywhere I wanted.
A couple of years later (when I was about 13) I did discover I had a special power, one that I still have to this day. However, it’s more likley to make me go blind than teleport anywhere :o
Not only did I not make it as a Tomorrow Person, but I haven’t even made onto this list
Could I have my own group? Ex-Wiganers who think they’ve climbed the social ladder by moving south, but can’t wait to ‘come home’ every couple of weeks for a chip barm?
Vat, you really are a prize muppet.
Sometimes you can be quite sensible, you even post the odd intersting comment, but then you go and make a post like this one.
Stop repeating stuff you read/hear from other people.
No-one gives a monkeys for some petty argument you think (or imagined) you had 5 years ago.
“in the old days, blah, blah, you knew the faces, blah, blah’.
Utter rubbish.
Without wishing to start playing your game, I first went in 1977/78 and can honestly say I remember about 5 people that went then ( dad, uncle, neighbour, mate, dad’s workmate). How you can remember at least a thousand, from 3 sides of the ground is beyond me. I can just about remember a dozen from the last home game.As for detesting 6, or 7,000 fans now, well that just about sums you up. As I said prize muppet.
Wonder how long it’ll take him to get back to Hull after Egypt play England in March…
…at Wembley!
James,
Did you ever consider that Martinez had very little choice? Perhaps he thought that with Diame only just back from injury and Kirkland always prone to putting his back out then he had to persist with Thomas and save his subs just in case players got injured?
You’d have been slating him for using up a pointless substitution if we’d run out of options later in the game.
One minute this team lacks passion, commitment and backbone. The next they’re getting slagged off for putting themselves about a bit.
Start thinking a bit, unless of course you are just a multiposting wind-up merchant. If so, ignore all of the above and just go away.
You beat me to it, well done Griff, quick off the mark again.I’ll bet he’s heard that a few times ;)
The ‘big’ clubs won’t go for it because there is clearly more chance of them NOT winning the FA Cup than coming 4th in the league.A play-off between the FA cup winners and the 4th placed league team would be an interesting compromise.
Absolutely right. I forget which pundit I heard suggest it, but he also stated it would never happen.
The FA have handed the four places to the Premier League and they are not going to hand one place back for the sake of the FA Cup.
Turkeys do not vote for Christmas.
Like you say, no longer a highlight.
When do you think, and why, did all this dis-interest start. Maybe it’s the obession with top clubs wanting the champions league along with the priority of staying in the EPL for the others.
Nevertheless, I maintain that 5k+ was a shocking attendance, god help us if it were a team from outside the prem. we were playing that day.
Now that WOULD have been embarrasing.
2000 anyone. :shock:For me, it’s simple. Almost everything in the game today is driven by money. It starts at the top when the big teams who can afford big squads started playing a second string, so they could focus on the riches of the Premiership and Champions Laegue. Teams like Wigan, desperate to get to the Prem, followed suit. All in the pursuit of money.
The big question is how to reverse this trend and again I’m a simple soul, so my answer is very one dimensional. Winners go into Champions League. That one action would trigger the greed in almost all clubs, desperate to qualify. that would revitalise interest overnight.
5000+ was pathetic for an FA cup tie. We would have got nearly double that 20 years ago.Totally agree with that. We’d have even had them down at the ground clearing straw/snow to get the game on.
See how far we have come.
Now that’s a bit daft because for a league fixture 20 years ago, we’d have had 3,500 on. Now we average nearer to 20,000. That’s how far we’ve come.
The FA Cup is no longer our shot at a bit of glory. These days we play the big boys every week.
