Thats not my point. My point is, you’d expect a non league club to take the chance to rake in some cash whilst theyve got the chance. As Ive said before, personally I dont drink so Im not bothered anyway.
Ok, I’ll re-phrase it. If we draw Man Utd, Man City, Liverpool or Everton at home in the next round, would you be happy if we gave them the North and East Stands to ensure maximum revenue and a full house?
You seem to think we have a God-given right to have our backsides licked by Fylde and they should feel not worthy of our presence. Perhaps its you that is not giving AFC Fylde respect – I just hope Cookie isn’t thinking that way!
Serious question VAT – if we drew AFC Bournemouth, Swansea or Huddersfield at home in the next round, would you expect the club to bend over backwards to accommodate the premier league opponents, offering their fans the opportunity to drink in the South Stand?
In your eyes maybe. I happen to think that 1357 is very generous, and bearing in mind our average away following is less than 1,000, it still makes provision for over 400 tickets to be available to those who hardly ever travel.
I suspect there may still be tickets available on Thursday morning.
Latics arent at fault. Fylde are. They get 1600 on average, and have given us 1357. So thats 3000.I don’t recall us giving Newcastle 10,000 tickets for the fixture last season.
The officials were poor, but in the end, they saved us with that handball in our penalty area near the end. No doubt the Northampton equivalent of this site are equally as disappointed in the standard of reffing.
Didn’t we get a free kick from that handball incident?[/quote]
Indeed we did – which just goes to show how bad the ref was!
The Cobblers had appeals for a penalty turned down with 5 minutes to go. This is the incident here: pic.twitter.com/HbZnyBukZu

The OP could have renewed as an adult for £249 as he stated that he’s been a ST holder every season bar the last 3rd tier campaign. If he’s got a grandkid, then he may even be at the £219 OAP rate. Either way, the kid’s ST would have been free had he bought one at the outset.
£498 or less for three to watch a whole season (less two games) is very good value.
Yes. There’ll be a few ST holders attended their first home game of the season yesterday because they were on holiday for the Bury game, and at Wembley for the Pompey game.
I don’t think it was just Power who was an integral part of the 16/17 failures and fiascos. Several players as well as some Board / Management who hired RUBBISH coaches / managers. Joycee wasn’t the best appointment was he?The management and coaching staff from last season have pretty much been moved on, be it of their own desire or the clubs wish to get shut of them. But I’m struggling to think of anyone other than Power on the playing front from last season who openly implied they were too good to play 3rd division football this season.
The Huws incident has left a sour taste in some supporters’ mouths, and to then have an average player who was plucked from non-league football tell you that he’s too good to play 3rd tier (when he’s only had one 2nd tier season, and a poor one at that) is at best confusing, and at worst downright disrespectful.
I didn’t boo or clap. I’m apathetic to Power.
We’ve only played 2 home league games before today – a ST would still have worked out much cheaper had you bought it in the summer.
If you work in McDonald’s and Burger King offered you twice as much money to go and flip burgers for them instead, you would go.The difference to this analogy being that Burger King didn’t offer twice as much – in fact even the Motorway Service Station branches weren’t interested. Max took a note in from his mum to the manager of McDonalds saying “Dear McDonalds, Max is too good to flip burgers for you lot and wants to go to BK if they ask him”
As JR said, the difference with Huws is he got crocked and then watched helplessly as the side fell through the trap door. He had a right to feel slightly hard-done too, whereas Power was an integral part of the failures of 16/17.
We beat Shrewsbury 5-1 at their place 18 months ago. But that was back in the day when Will Grigg was on fire and we had a £9m parachute payment to bankroll our promotion charge.
Its a lot tougher in this league when its a level playing field.
I imagine Cookie wasn’t looking forward to this one with only two of his regulars certain to get call ups, and Grigg a million miles away from international duty.
He must have been really chuffed when Owen Evans, with zero 1st team minutes this season, got a call for the Welsh U21’s and he could invoke the postponement rule!
Wasn’t Perch captain right up until the minute he was sold to QPR?
I see on the official page that over 1000 tickets sold for MK Dons, but nothing seems to have been said about how many ST’s have been sold. Is it normal not to announce it, or is it only announced after the first home game?
– and no I don’t have a ST, and haven’t for years as I work 1 in 3 weekends.
