As for the title of this thread. Its surprising what a bit of jumping up & down can do. Really does warm the cockles.

Lowe was shocking first half. He, & the rest of the team stepped up their game big style in the second half. Hopefully a confidence boosting springboard of a win.

Whenever anyone mentions the playing of weakened sides I always think of Ian Holloway’s Blackpool getting a hefty fine for making a few changes against Villa. They only lost the game by the odd goal and the likes of united were fielding weakened teams against the teams at the bottom of the league on a regular basis.
I know that was a league game but rules for one and rules for others at its best.

Looking at the liverpool team on show at the moment vs Shrewsbury – they’re all kids.

Funny how the game has shifted but it’s the supporters who are being short changed with weakened sides and they are voting with their feet and rightfully so.
The game boils down to money however the TV companies will be off like a shot if the stadiums empty up again like they did in the 1980s.
Seem to Remember spurs being fined by the football league in early eighties for fielding a weakened side in a league match before an FA cup final.

Isnt it in the rules – unless they’ve changed, that teams have to play their strongest teams wherever possible?

Anyone know how he got on at Football Manager this weekend?

I heard he guided Wigan to the Champions League Final beating Bayern Munich on penalties. A great achievement in only his 3rd season in charge.

We talk about the gamble of whether we throw in the kids or not. Although a different era, back in the 80’s we had no option but to play the likes of David Lowe, Newell, Aspinall etc. All were kids & did very well for us. Peter Atherton Tankard etc in the 90’s.

27 points from winning positions now. Won’t stay up with a record like that.

Exactly! We’d be well in the play-offs if we could hang onto leads.

Moore back into the equation this week

If he is, I hope it means that Cook doesnt revert back to the hoofball tactics. I know results are still frustrating at the moment, but we have improved slightly by playing football.

Bloody hell vince. Donny will have a fit of we start playing a left back up front

Well, we do play a left winger as a centre back.
