Whether the blame lies with the manager or not do you think it was right to boo or, as has been suggested, “ironically clap” him being subbed?
He was not the worst player on the field yesterday, in terms of either effort or skill. Do you think booing a player off helps the players still on the pitch and since the entire squad think Gomez is cr@p anyway, booing him off made them raise their game?
Or maybe it just made you feel better?I didnt do either as I dont condone that sort of behaviour ! Not sure about your squad comment ?[/quote]
I wasn’t suggesting you did although I accept my post reads that way. It was a general comment aimed at those who were.
The squad comment was a bit of sarcasm.I can get you some club- logoed hush puppies if if helps with the arthritis. ;)I was hoping you wouldn’t mention the arthritis. It’s a bit too close to the bone for me! ;)

Or maybe it just made you feel better? Can anyone explain why RM had our most creative player on the field playing at left back for the last half hour ????? The worst tactical change I have seen him make to date !! :?:He wasn’t playing left-back.
Martinez went 3-5-2. Cleverley and Stam playing as wing-backs with, wait for it – shock, horror – two up front.Oh, Sammy – pleasure to meet you today. See you at the Fulham game – bring your boots ;)A pleasure reciprocated Griff.
I was much impressed to see your suggestion that we should have started with McArthur instead of Thomas duly implemented by Bobby at half-time, not that it did us much good though. If you have any influence in these matters would you kindly tell Bobby that Ronnie Stam is not, and never will be, a full-back.Oh, and maybe I should bring my boots. If Gary Caldwell can get a game then I must be in with a chance and I’m pushing seventy, don’t you know! 8-)
I watched the incident last night and the ref and the linesman didnt see the head butt.
The 4th official saw it and notified the ref.
It is not the 4th officials job to make decisions for the ref.
I am suprised no one has even bothered to mention this.
I agree he should have gone but without the 4th official no one could have made that decision. The 4th official can assist the referee in these matters.
I was also at the Port Vale game at Old Trafford. We were given the Stretford End and remember a bottle being thrown from way back and just clearing the barrier! If it had him someone on the head it would have caused them serious damage.
First started going in ’64 and the team was something like:
Alan Halsall
Derek Houghton
Roy Wilkinson
Dave Crompton
Alf Craig
Dave Roberts
Les Campbell
Carl Davenport
Harry Lyon (God)
Allan Brown (player manager)
Walter StanleyPardew it is then for the bar codes and on a five and a half year deal…….!
Somehow I’m happy that Bobby is still in charge here.
Maybe this will help?

Not that LMB is the type of person to readily accept this kind of advice, mind you. And it’s going to take two days for us to find out!
The cambridge utd fan on his todd in the away end :) .
i might be wrong but as well as singing on his own did he have a rattle?. plus york city away in 1998, the half time music wasn’t the usual chart dross but joy division (shadow play) amongst other obscure stuff i have never heard played before or since at any football ground i have visited.I remember a night match, Bristol Rovers I think, in the depths of winter and it was absolutely lashing down. There were about six fans stood in the Shevvy end getting absolutely soaked and on the receiving end of some unsympathetic banter. At half time someone waved them over and they were allowed to watch the rest of the game from the Phoenix stand.
Leaving aside all the conspiracy theories – pay-offs, FIFA’s dislike of the UK media and the cash-rich Premier league – then the excuses being given as to why it was awarded to the likes of Russia and Qatar – FIFA’s policy to raise the profile of the game in those countries, etc – would suggest that England will never be awarded the World Cup tournament again.
However, it seems the 2014 WC in Brazil is in jeopardy because, basically, they are skint and way behind schedule in getting everything ready in time. Given that Blatter has already stated England could host the WC tomorrow the suggestion is that we are considered as backup should Brazil pull out, which is an ever increasing possibility. Both Russia and Qatar are also regarded as high risk and again England is the ideal insurance policy.
So we may end up hosting the WC by default.Allegedly. Ha Ha!! ;)
Nobody dishes out brown paper envelopes better than the Russians!
That replayed match at Northwich, did it take place on Christmas Eve or is my memory failing me again?
