Am I missing something?
Espinoza is brilliant at the running around and tackling bit, but at times his passing is shocking.
It was exactly the same yesterday. He had a decent game but was behind McArthur, Gomez, and Perch for me.
It’s the energy “running around” and closing down that makes the difference – the final piece of the jigsaw. When you consider all the loanees who’ve played and contributed very little, Rog was a breath of fresh air yesterday and the performance of the whole siide was lifted.
Leave the fancy passing to Mr Gomez who was also excellent yesterday as was young James.
Best league performance of the season for me. :)
Yes, leave the fancy passing to Gomez, but passing to one of your own players should be a prerequisite for any player. He ran like f’ck yesterday, but what’s the point of running and tackling when 50% of the time you give it back to the opposition. Reading were poor, so he got away with it.
Realistically, if McCann or Watson were fit, Espinoza wouldn’t start. He deosn’t retain possession well enough for either Martinez or Rosler’s liking.
But some just fail to grasp the concept :silly:
And that would be Wigan fans in particular.
Maybe it is a rugby town after all….!
Gomez haters, where the fck are you all?All swooning over Roger…..!
If memory serves me right I believe Crewe had a certain Mr Grobbellaar in goal that day and he was shown a yellow card before the game started for marking out his goal and penalty area.
I reckon it’s down to the keeper guessing right at the end of day and that’s what the Arsenal keeper himself has admitted to.
The penalties were on target and their keeper guessed right, Scott Carson didn’t guess right so their penalties went in.
One other thing that yesterday did prove to me was that Scott Carson is still one of the best English goalkeepers, and would be pressing for a World Cup spot if he had been playing more regularly. I personally prefer him than Ali Al Habsi.I think Carson is technically a better ‘keeper but not as good a shot stopper as Al Habsi. When it got to penalties I think we would have fared better had Ali been there. Fabianski IS a good shot stopper.
Regarding bringing Caldwell on rather than Barnett I also thought it strange. Maybe Barnet is still carrying an injury. Caldwell did the right thing by taking responsibility for the first pen. Had that gone in the story could well have been different.I think it was an understandable mistake given they were playing in tangerine and Holloway was in the dugout.
Looked to me like 9 players who know there’s absolutely zip chance of them playing on Saturday and therefore couldn’t give a toss last night.or, they all ensured they made themselves available for selection on Saturday by not getting injured.
Again, we’re going to win you again (now that is comedy genius) – I do object to the Town full of P**** though. All we have here is a (small) group of ‘educated’ football supporters arguing the toss whether a football chant is grammatically correct or not – those that choose to sing champions couldn’t give a toss. I’d argue that even some of those who find champions offensive were guilty of singing it out loud themselves in the heat of the moment at a very important match (they even admitted to doing the Poznan as well). Who cares (really) what is sung as long as it adds to great atmosphere – and shuts up the Leeds fans at the same time. Shall we write to Greg Dyke asking that he puts a task force together to regularise the chants for each stadium and fine those breaking the grammar police rules. We are not the only club to have this type of chant (some even still play music after a goal is scored – how very working class). Now if anyone is really bothered why don’t those in the West Stand start singing the correct version for them so that they can learn from the learned – oh that’s right no bugger sings in the West Stand they just tut loudly and suck on their mints at the incredulous youth enjoying themselves across t’other side.
Put it to bed lads, no one is bothered what the minority think (whether correct or not) and it’s not going to change.
I strongly object to that assumption…….!
Been there a few times, but usually go to Ashton Town, Ashton Athletic, St Helens Town (at Ashton) or Robin Park, but they were all away.
There’s also Prescot (Prescot Cables and AFC Liverpool), Skem, Warrington and Burscough. Loads of options.
Are Chorley not currently the highest ranked out of your aforementioned and top of their division ?
Ah, then he would be accused of glory hunting.
But that is how teams attract new fans or neutrals ! I am pretty sure that Chorley will be getting more on at home games now than if they were say mid table !
How many of the 849 at the game yesterday do you think were glory hunters?
And how many stayed right until the end and how many knobbed off with about ten minutes to go?
Not many I suspect. It’s a nightmare getting away from Duke Street at the moment…!

It’s a pity that they can’t sing something familiar that everybody is happy to join in.We know who we are
We know who we are
FA Cup winners
We know who we areOther clubs have produced memorable songs and chants but we seem to be in the special needs class when it comes to our fans.
They had possibly a unique opportunity to sing about our FA Cup win and cocked it up. They can’t get the words of YAMS right. They copy a chant from Zulte Waregem fans, which could have been turned into something more representative and fitting, but get it completely wrong. Surely there must be some fans in ES2 with an IQ in double figures who can give us all something witty and original to smile about. When this thread eventually gets to the number 4001 I’m hoping to post a picture of my Rickenbacker bass. I’m not over confident it’s likely to happen though.
Find the address/URL of the picture you want to post from the web and copy that. This doesn’t work for pictures on your own PC’s hard drive. In the “reply topic” box find the “image link” icon – it’s two to the left of the ebay icon (it looks like a telly screen and a chain). Click on it, and paste the image address into the box marked “URL”.
I then find the best thing to do then is go don to the message box, click where you want the picture to appear, and then go back to the image link box and click “insert”.
Click “submit” :)
So how do I post a picture on here that’s in JPEG format on my computer?
Do I have to sign the official secrets act or something to do it?Tried without any success to insert an image ! Did what I always do and for some reason the picture won’t show ! Give up ! 337 by the way ! ;)Old people and computers eh……!
Join the club.
Still waiting for the definitive step by step answer on how post pictures on here btw. Jason seems to enjoy drip feeding me this info content in the knowledge I’ll be struggling for some time trying to figure it out, which I haven’t.
I’m in Cyprus now having a jolly good time so I will have to prolong the suspense ….
I think it is worth the wait, worthy to be used as the Cockney Latic banner.
Off to catch some 25 degree sun ….. -
