Looking forward to seeing the DW packed out next Saturday evening…..?
It won’t be “packed out” so don’t bother looking forward to it.
I see Mr Douglas Bank has failed to respond to the charge.
I rest my case.
Beausejour tenth in all season stats for assists in Premier League. Not bad for what many believe is a fat waster on the wing!
Not quite sure why you’ve mentioned Beausejour here unless it’s a veiled reference to the notion he provides a substantial amount of cover for Figueroa. However, that statistic is not a surprise to me. I’m also not surprised no one has mentioned his superb pass for Kone’s second goal yesterday because that would mean a good number of numpties on here having to back track on their opinion of him being “a fat waster on the wing”.
You won’t hear much from any of them until we lose to Liverpool next week.
Well yes, other than I fully expect us to beat Liverpool next week with Johnny boy providing the assist for the winning goal.Beausejour tenth in all season stats for assists in Premier League. If Everton win they will go full strength and seeing as our record against them away aint that good then I cant see a second string beating them ! Oh well you never know, RM may put out a strong side that may stop the rot ! Roll on Reading !Has window cleaning made you the most pessimistic man in all Christendom or was it the other way round.
All that money and looks like Jack TrampWhen you’re that rich you don’t give a shit.
Centre pages today saying this could be the year that the lowest number or Prem teams in the quarter final draw quote “With the Gunners out only Everton,Man City,Chelsea,Man Utd and Reading are flying the Prem flag this season. With either Utd or Reading loing tommorow that leave just four clubs providing Chelsea can overcome Brentford in their replay and City beat Leeds The lowest count in the sixth round in two decades is four in 1994 2000 2003 2004 and 2008 a stat which could be broken over the next 48hrs.Journalism at its finestWhat’s more embarrassing here is your admission that you read The Sun.
And for what it’s worth, I wish he’d play his strongest team, tooI have a feeling we might be surprised.
We will never loose”its a rugby town” the journos and tv pundits cant help there selfs,so millions across the world will hear this.It comes on tv at 3.30 on sundat it will be 3.45 when it gets said
Perhaps not but we’re getting there and the longer we stay in the top flight the more diluted this “rugby town” perception will become. Before our rise to the Premiership any success we had that merited the BBC or ITV doing a “piece” on us always included reference to Wigan being a rugby town – the infamous Maurice Lindsay interview being a typical example – to the point where it was difficult to tell which club was being highlighted. At least we don’t suffer that any more.
I posted this on a similar thread three years ago and it still holds true:-
So many but here’s a few of mine.
Championship against Reading 2005
No need to explain thatThose home games against Norwich and Hull in 1987 which saw us get to the quarter-final of the FA Cup and lose to Leeds.
How did Bobby Campbell miss that header?Freight Rover Final against Brentford 1985
We played them off the park when everyone else including Screen Sport – who did the TV coverage – thought we were there to make up the numbers.FA Cup against Birmingham 1978
Although we lost 4-0 we played some great football which won us lots of votes and got us elected to the league.FA Cup against Man City 1971
Fairytale stuff which nearly, but not quite, came true.Let us, like Him, hold up one brown shoe and let the other brown show be upon our foot, for this is His sign, that all who follow Him shall do likewise.
I’m Brian and so is my wife.
Blessed are the cheesemakers.
After our amazing finish to last season why have we not moved on to somewhere near that level and are again in the S***e ?In a nutshell, injuries to key players.
Well I heard Whelan was prepared to offer him four times the salary Everton were willing to pay but he chose Everton anyway…..!
It’s the exact same style of play that saw us win seven out of nine last season.Absolutely correct. Southampton did to us what we were doing to teams at the back end of last season.
I think that was a good point gained against a side that are playing far better than their league position suggests. They were very unlucky not to come away with at least a point from Old Trafford on Wednesday and had United pinned in their own half, playing hoof-ball and hanging on for much of the second half. Something you rarely see and even more surprising when you consider United are 10 points clear at the top. The disappointing performances were against Fulham, Sunderland and Stoke – three very average teams – where we only started playing in the second half. Those games should have been won.
