No it wouldn’t be funny in the slightest. It would just make us as bad as them. We need to rise above the pettiness and show that we are superior to the kind of brainless cretin that does something like that.
Peter Atherton. Joe Parkinson. Andy Pilling. John Robertson. I’m sure given time I could think of a few more.
Totally irrelevant what Stoke players cost….can only base opinion on what I saw last night, and they were poor. Still as poor as they were we were shit and Stoke should have won it..As for Clarke……he created nothing and centre halfs had him in their pockets all night.Irrelevant what players cost but a pound to a pinch of shit you’re one of those people that said we only won the league last year because we had the biggest budget.
I’ve found that the ones that were first to complain about overplaying and tippy tappy under Martinez were also the first to complain about the long ball/hoof ball tactics under Coyle/McKay and the defensive football under Joyce.
And they are also the first to complain under the current manager.
In fact I’ve found that the same people are the first to complain no matter what.
We”re simply not good enough at this level but will stay up.
Sorry, run that one by me again.
3 teams worse than us this season. That’s how we will get away with it.
Isn’t that how every team that avoids relegation “gets away with it”. If we’re not one of the bottom 3 teams we obviously are good enough to stay up.
Oh but he can help being burdened by who he supports because he changed his team when they hit hard times. He was a Latics fan but when we were asked to put our hands in our pockets to help he turned and ran.
And let’s face it he was never going to run to Chester or Rochdale or some other footballing pauper was he?
I usually go to these but couldn’t last night. Was anything said about any if the youngsters being close to being called into the first team squad?
I don’t think that’s a recent thing. People have said it for a while. I’m unsure myself. His record at this level isn’t good but his 2 seasons at this level with is were both disrupted by injuries so it’s hard to tell. But the Mackems have certainly paid well over the odds. The frustration is the timing of it.
This is how the world works.
Is he supposed to say now “well, actually I didn’t really want to go to Sunderland but Wigan told me that the bid was too great, and I wasn’t really going to get game time. Besides which I’m finding those Championship defenders rather hard to get past. But I’ll pull on a Sunderland shirt for the photos and try to look happy till I move somewhere else”?It’s all a PR game. Don’t stress over it.
I understand that. But it’s one thing saying it’s nice to be here and something else to say he did everything he could to get away from where he’s just been. At best it’s disrespectful to a club that made him famous.
Interesting piece on Newsnow at the moment. An interview with Grigg who admits he did everything he could to make the move happen.
So should the club have turned 4 million down and end up having a shithousing player disrupting the club till summer?
Link?
I don’t know how to put a link on. Just go on our News now page and look at the interview with the Sunderland Echo.

I think if they’d promised all sorts and not delivered we could say so. But the new owners made it clear from the start they wouldn’t be throwing money at us. I’m not disappointed by the sale of Grigg just frustrated at the timing of it. Also when the now owners took over they made developing youth a priority. If this sale enables that then it’s a real silver lining to what seems like a dark cloud.
According to Paul Kendrick the fee is way way above what Sky reported.
Well he would wouldn’t he
Sky have now changed their tune and are reporting the same figure. Now why would they?
4 million according to Kendrick
