Very highly rated by all accounts.
Anythings possible, Cook has used Windass up front and Roberts not to mention Powell who will be back soon enough.
If a late offer comes in and it meets our valuation he’ll be gone. There wont be any, “Were short up front, under no circumstance is he going anywhere !” talk he’ll be out the door faster than sh*t off a shovel covered in WD40We’ve turned 6 bids down and you still do nowt but stick the boot into the club.
I do agree on the lack of service as ive said but cookie obviously feels nobody can give that to him
Saying that, don’t be shocked if Leon Clarke doesn’t come back for another stint, he’s on the market looking for a club. He fits “The Cook Profile” perfect.
33…6ft+ hit it long to me , and has had more clubs than Captain Caveman.
Don’t say I didn’t warn you, looks like he’s heading back another stint. Another over 30+ and Griggs not going ?.
I’d be shocked if he isn’t even loaned out because with 3 big lumps to aim at high at why would we need him ?
Suppose it was Billy Sharp not Leon Clark we were linked with. Would you moan about that?
If Grigg stays, I’ll be happy. If he is sold, I wont be.
Its that simple.
He hasn’t been sold but it hasn’t stopped you having a girly strop and laying into people as is your usual style. You’re not renowned for reasoned debate and level headedness but it’s a bit much even for you.
Oh and I assume the term pro clubbers was meant as an insult. I actually take it as a compliment. Cheers.
Maybe people should wait till Grigg is actually sold before they start stamping their feet. Otherwise they may end up looking more silly than usual.
My God, I can’t think of one Latics fan who would have complained if we had if sold him for £10 million last summer.Cobblers! There would have been a meltdown of biblical proportions and cries of lack of ambition.
If Will goes for the sort of money we have been hearing about this will single handedly be the most crazy sale in our history.
Hoping that if this happens it will create the biggest backlash from the fans we have seen since the days of Bill Kenyon.
He isnt the best striker we have ever had but he is the best we have now and for the sort of cash quoted for a proven goalscorer we should be asking WTF is going on and who TF are these faceless individuals running our club and managing the team.[/quoteYou’ll have the chance to ask next week
From what I remember it was made clear that we wouldn’t be spending big on transfer fees. There was never any mention of a war chest except in the blurred memory of some of our fans.
They don’t have to tell us anything. They will tell us what we need to know and when we need to know it.
We know they don’t have to tell us anything, but occasionally it would be nice to read something about us.
It would also better for the overall wellbeing of the club if they were more interactive with their fans.Apparently there are some rumours on twitter on occasions from Paul Kendrick and a journalist called Nixon, but I don’t do twitter.
I wonder if Shoot or Match magasine are still going, we used to get a couple lines in those publications from time to time.
I remember getting free gifts in those magazines when I was younger but nothing on that scale.
If people aren’t happy after the transfer window has closed then you’ll all have chance to question our invisible chairman in a couple of weeks. I assume all the naysayers on here will be taking him up on the chance to put your typed messages into real words.
Have they actually broken any rules?
I’ve always said whoever’s been in charge of scouting recruitment needs there eyes and ears testing.Surely they can’t have watched some of these players we’ve brought in, some of who we hardly ever played and shipped out with on a free or loaned straight out, the list is endless. More worrying they tend to be the players we’ve pay good money for.
Something’s not right when every window were 10 in 10 out (other year 14) it’s total madness.
Hopefully Darren Royale starts from the top and sorts this mess out because it gone on far to long. At one time we rarely got it wrong Valencia, Chimbonda, Palacios, N’Zogbia, Moses Whilchut all moving on for a tidy some but money we’ve wasted money and the stupid signings proves something’s not right.
I mean Cole and Walker I’ll never understand, what was the point ? Both never given a chance to settle before been shipped out.We need to recruit wisely and less frequently and every year try and bring a youth player through.
You never know, we might even get a decent young center half come through rather than be looking at an Oldham’s Academy center half player for 500k, another for the future I suppose.
The club needs restructuring, better recruitment, less willy nilly bulk buying, more emphasis on the Academy especially with the facilities we have.Every year clubs release quite a few kids, we’ve 4 huge Prem clubs on our doorsteps within 20 odd miles either side. I’m sure there’s another Baines or even MacManaman waiting to be given a 2nd chance
But you want Cook sacking! All that will do is lead to another complete overhaul and further lack of continuity.
You can’t have it both ways.
Latics Men still making their mark on the FA Cup !!!And Shaquille Coulthirst.
With Callum Lang just popping in winner at Premier league Fulham the mind boggles.
Not good enough for Latics though….
Only us..
Not only us. I think you’ll find plenty clubs have sent players out on loan who have then gone on to score for their temporary club.
The squad isn’t good enough you’re right but we don’t have the finances that the clubs at this level have. Like many have said before, our 3rd choice striker cost £1m where some clubs at this level spend around £10m on theirs.
. We were stupid for not getting the cash for Powell when we had chance.
Imagine the meltdowns if that had happened. Including you.
