I haven’t mentioned rugby and I honestly couldn’t give a toss if you support them or not. I come from a family of rugby supporters. I just find it hard to take someone seriously when they stop supporting a team because not everything is tickety boo then flit off to support somebody and question other people’s loyalty. It’s hypocritical. Regarding this thread it’s pretty obvious you stored this somewhere to bring up even though you chose to do it out if context. We know all footballers cheat to one extent or another. And we all dislike it no matter who does it. It’s just that at times you come across as desperate to do down the club you claim to have once supported and this is one of those times. I’m sure that if you didn’t have such a itchy trigger you could have found a more relevant example.

I was at the game yesterday. The facts:1. There were gaps in both ends, but there were definitely more Hull supporters than Wigan. However as just about every neutral was supporting Hull then it was hardly surprising. I saw lots of Leeds, castleford, Bradford, Huddersfield, featherstone and numerous other Yorkshire clubs all rooting for the Yorkshire club. I didn’t see a single saints or Warrington shirt, but even if they were there, they’d be cheering anyone but Wigan!
2. Half of the top tier was empty – where the TV cameras were. Most of club Wembley wasn’t filled either. The rest was full. 68000+ sounds right.
3. Travel problems hampered Wigan fans more than Hull, as kings cross was open as normal.
4. Hull city unselfishly switched their game to Friday night to allow supporters of both clubs a chance to watch both sides.
5. I won £50 on backing Hull after the first Wigan try.
6. Hull deservedly won.
Mutty in response to the little dig hidden among the facts it needs the agreement of both clubs to switch a fixture. We approached Portsmouth and they said no do nothing selfish there.
Stacks of empty seats and less than 65000 there.
Maybe with us playing at home fans who follow both clubs opted to stay in Wigan and go to the DW.
It certainly didn’t make any difference to our official attendance. With less than 2000 away fans the gate was up from the Bury match who brought around 1200. Yes we had slightly less home fans there today but this is probably down to the pay on the day price which was incidentally more expensive than many Wembley tickets today. INothing to do with the national rail system being on lockdown all weekend is it?
How many coaches do you think there were available in Wigan. To take the mickey out of 60 odd thousand is a bit rich when you had a conference attendance. And Jacobs is the same 1 year left. Another rumour, Powell is set to leave I just hope this ain’t true. For me the main decision is whether to start with Colclough against Portsmouth. I didn’t go to MK so I’ve only seen Massey twice and he hasn’t really looked up to it. Other than that the same team.
3 or 4 seasons while still finishing high up in the top league aren’t lean years. The true lean years for the rugby club were the 70s and early 80s. What were their crowds then. And what were they in the mid to late 80s onwards when silverware abounded? Now what was you saying about glory hunting?
