Why is it whenever a goal is scored by the opposition at the park end at Goodison the same fat scouser jumps up waiving his arms as if the world has ended??
I agree – I have watched Kiernan closely lately and despite his lack of inexperience he always gives 100 % and puts a good shift in as does young Hughes.
Give me 11 like him and we would do ok – tossers who cause unrest in the squad need to be shown the door or banished very quickly or the poor results will continue.
Mccann and Watson still to come back so we have to get behind them – the Ipswich result doesn’t look that bad when you look at where they are in the league and the form they are in.
the word BELIEVE is never more needed than now!Back him – he hasn’t got a bad record as a manager If you check his stats out .
he won’t be sacked but I’d expect some serious chats with the owner over the next few days and one or two heads banged together. If these stories Are true then they should be fined and banished out on loan or made to train with the kids- disgraceful behaviour.
Some of our supporters are so bloody fickle it’s untrue – we need to get real and realise we are where we are and we had better get used to it.
it’s a weird league and you can lose two or three then win two or three and bear in mind some of the new players are bedding in which is normal when a team is in transition like we are at the moment.
I haven’t always agreed with his selections but players on big wages need to get a reality check and have some sympathy with those 400 diehards who travelled all those miles to witness that yesterday.
we have lost three very very good players this season so did anyone expect things to be better in view of that?
i have a feeling we will beat Forest on Tuesday night and then it will be all smiles and the ‘ Uwe’ song again.
he HAS to be given time to get this sorted and the billy big time sh)t houses kicked out either now or in the window in January.
I still have faith in our manager and what we are seeing is normal when a team is in a changeover period – remember 2001-2 under Jewell ?Just checked the match report and he came on for them just after the hour mark.
From all accounts he played well in the spell he played in today.I guess it all depends on how much that 45 minutes from Pasquale Bruno cost us.Bruno was either a loanee or a trialist so he probably cost the club nothing other than a few weeks wages back in the austere nineties and if I remember rightly he at least put a bit of effort in despite his limited ability.
fast forward to the present situation and he in his second year of a three year contract with very little value being given to the club in my opinion regardless of the situation or who is to blame.
Imagine if I went to work and said to my boss ” I don’t feel up to doing any work today or putting any effort so go @@@@ yourself ! ” how long do you think I would lastthe same capability procedures should be applied to footballers like they do in any workplace if the work isn’t up to the standard required – the sooner we get rid the better!
Could this be the worst signing in the clubs 82 year history’s?????
ProbablyAt least we tried to play football(for 20 minutes anyhow) and entertain rather than kick the other side off the park like Ipskick town did once they realised how crapthose officials were !!
Old bert from Sesame Street can go on and on about his ‘plan’ but it just boiled down to a game of murderball and it was dreadful to watch.
As for the embarrassment of seeing that non footballer Sammon score the winner well for me it was just a bad night that only your worst enemy could think up!!
24 hours later and the anger and embarrassment subsided I just feel robbed and cheated and the feeling is we deserved at least a point from that game last night and Rosler please start Waghorn every game from now on he is the best striker at the club.
bad night – not giving up on it just yet.
I haven’t seen anything of the game, but kept an eye on BBC website text last night.60% possession away from home against a team below us and no goal(s).
We really do need to put a winning run together PDQ. 3 wins and it will all look so much better; 3 defeats and it doesn’t bear thinking about
We’ve brought in what we hope are good signings in the window. Another couple of games without a win (given the form this season, Brum aside and end of last season) and I fear DW’s firing finger will be getting twitchy.
We must be challenging the top 6 by the end of November, ready to launch a big assault on promotion. Otherwise it’s time for a change of manager.
There’s too much talent available to us for the league position we are now in.
I would imagine a conversation has taken place about where he expects the team to be by a certain point like he did with Jewell in the 2002-3 season.
Id be very surprised if the plug was pulled any time soon however we have started this season in a similar vein to last year so I would speculate December time will be the target month just like it was last year.
maybe it will all start to click soon but bear in mind the club is in a massive transitional period so some patience is needed by us all ….. For nowthe defence was absolutely awful yesterday especially that first goal which was basically a free shot at goal and Carson should have done better with it also.
The second was just a free header for Rhodes and we had given up by the time the third one went in.
A poor performance and a lack of fight and the quality was non existent across the pitch which makes me think this is going to be a very long season and a lower table finish is the best we can hope for on that evidence yesterday.
Also NEVER EVER let Ramis near a penalty again unless Shaun Wane fancies taking him over to the Thugby!!!
I suppose we could just make the excuse it is our bogey ground but they were awful in the first half and were there for the taking-
Bad day 3 out if 10Shows how far the national side have fallen when all the media and supporters are raving about a win in Switzerland FFS!!!
two very poor sides in my view and until more England young players are given opportunities at the highest level then I can see a steady decline and more drab performances.
the group Englans are in should be an absolute shoe in given that the authorities and TV companies need the biggest nations in this tournament to sell it and attract advertising and sponsorship so I hardly think this victory is anything to shout about really .the business the club did in the window may turn out to be some of the best business this club has ever done and we are in for some fine times ahead if that performance against Birmingham is anything to go by.
Buying experience players and paying top dollar wages doesn’t work for Wigan, Holt comes to mind. I’m just glad to see us going back to what we’ve done best in the past that’s, signing young ambitious players, who want to improve and play at the highest level. But, while their at Wigan they leave us with priceless memories.
Hats off to DW, it seems that the McArthur money has gone straight back into signing players and their wages.
TBH practically the cash from every player we have sold has gone back into the club somehow which is we have no debts and make a small profit. The fact we are now seemingly able to put money back into the playing side of things shows just how good a job DW has done and continues to do with this club.[/quote]
Credit to the club on reinvesting in four very promising youngsters despite interest from much bigger clubs with some of the players
just realised we now have FIVE strikers on the books if you include callum as one and I cannot remember the last time that happened if ever!
Good luck to James Mac at Palace although I fear they may be back in the championship next season. His record since he came in (full seasons- using tier divisions)
2 seasons 4th division
6 seasons 3rd division
8 seasons Top flight
3 seasons in division 2Trophies won
Division 4 title 1996-97
Division 3 title 2002-2003
Auto windscreens trophy 1999
FA cup 2013Europa league 2013-14
3 promotions
better the devil you know
My thoughts always hanker back to that very first premier league game and that full kitted middle aged bloke stood up with the hands behind head ‘ we wuz robbed’ pose – wonder if he still goes ?
probably not -
