DW spent plenty of his own personal cash on us. I’m not too sure that these guys will be willing to do that TBH. I know I certainly wouldn’t.Well you may or may not be right, but if they aren’t willing to spend their cash, what do they expect will result from them taking that position ?…..other than failure and relegation (immediate or otherwise)
And begs the question “So what ARE they doing here, and what are their real plans and expectations?”
Remember catching one of Hurst’s coaches from that little office they had on the main road in Goose Green……Walsall away we drew 1-1 having gone in front through Tony Quinn who scored in each of his first five league matches and we thought we had a world beater on our hands ….

I thought his flippant, arrogant but often funny persona at the outset (early Chelsea) was great …..and to have someone around who said what he thought rather than trot out the old platitudes was a welcome change…..but ……he has morphed into a sulking self indulgent Jessie and I’m not remotely surprised that he failed at OT.
All that said those players are a fkn disgrace, they clearly thought blowing the season and any remote chance of challenging City was well worth paying in order to get rid of him….stuff the hopes of the supporters shelling out what they often can’t afford to watch some gobshite “earning” hundreds of thousands of pounds a week go through the motions because they don’t like the manager.
Half the working world don’t get on with their boss, but that doesn’t entitle them to do ball all ….and if they did they’d soon be unable to pay their mortgages !

Well I expected somewhat more than we are getting right now and that doesn’t mean “I expect or think we have the right to be in the play offs” but I’d reasonably expect to be on a par with the team who were second best to us last season for one…..!
Despite beating them they are several points and positions better off than us ……why is expecting to be where they currently are deemed unrealistic?
Van Dijk totally out of control and studs up ….. a great tackle at any point up to 1985……iffy from there to 2005….. definite red at any point in recent years
Well the bugger’sscored more than enough against us, he owes us a few if he does come …but
Wages must be a big problem (you would think)
If he’s willing to step down to the Championship wouldn’t there be a few better options open to him nearer the top of the Division
He’s 36 …..a quick direct player, but at his age he can only be getting slower ?
Well your erudite post of some days ago has the answer Horc!
Myself, I’d say. 15 to 20 differential has to be in place , otherwise the cheating c**t clause applies,
Come on boys, we’re not playing for money or even a big orange ?
In this case yes because Byrne has always said it’s his favoured position and he doesn’t consider himself a full back. That’s how I see it, in fact he fell out with Caldwell because he was asking him to play right back, to the point where he went out on loan to Charlton (at which point I thought we’d seen the last of him)
Only to come back under different management and yet still playing right back….to great effect and he deservedly got the plaudits for last seasons efforts. He’s now in the role that he always saw as his prime position and he’s been ineffective …..now whether that’s because he isn’t up to it (at this level) or whether he needs more time to bed back in I’m not certain……I hope it’s the latter but there looks to be cause for doubt at the moment.
Couldn’t agree more, he’s wandering around like a fish out of water at the moment. His final ball/crossing on Saturday was shocking.
Voted for him as player of the year last season with no hesitation, but besides being at a different level, he’s now also playing a different position…. and it doesn’t seem to be working. Not sure when we last won at the Horwich Wanderers Stadium; I think Lee McCulloch scored the winner ! So it was nice to trudge home with a point in the bag at least. Could have won though and never looked in any danger; even with the multitude of corners that Wanky won. Funny how the Latics faithfull mistook the Wanky substitution for Janic Wildschutt :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:Last time I remember James McArthur got the winner when Rodallega was playing (and appeared to sulk about the fact that the winner was scored, rather than passed to him so he could score !)
