Over a million am afraid. Not helpful fans booing Naismith when he comes on at one up. Confidence looked shaky and so it proved. Must be horrible to be treated like that by your own supporters. Luton next week could be pivotal.
Change medication.
Excellent away performance against an in form team. Unlucky not to win. Always on front foot.
To suggest our home form under Cook hasn’t been great is like saying our away form under him hasn’t been poor.
In 2017/18 we lost once at home.
2018/19 we lost 4 times and this year we’ve lost 3 times so far. So in 54 games we have lost 8 times. Most fans only go to home games as our away following is shite so presumably the majority of fans must be happy with what they have seen at home. Especially given the fact we pay bugger all for our season tickets.Since January 1st think we’ve lost three times at home. Has it really been that bad?
We deffo had more money than every team in League one and had more than majority of Championship. Whelan pumped more money into the club than we have ever seen. The wealthiest clubs generally do the best. Of the top 5 currently 3 are in the top 5 attendances. Of the bottom 8 4 have amongst the worst attendances in the league.
Last year we had two players in Powell and James who would have cost about 30 million to buy and we have replaced with unproven league one players, an academy starlet and a couple of has beens. We don’t have money for much else and as egg has stated with the crowds we currently have its hardly gonna get better. We are in one of the biggest leagues in the world and have less than 9000 fans. How are we gonna compete on any level? Cooks kept us up and has so far kept us out the relegation places this year. For all the passion some of you show on here I don’t see many Cook Out flags at the game or the fans chanting for his head. Rarely heard as much as a boo. So stop the talk and threats to boycott. Get to the game and demand his removal. Or is Primark more appealing VAT?
Jewell had twice as much money as rest of league ya daft sod!
Maybe Mr Brownbill you should join VAT and his Mrs Shopping Saturday. Will only lead to more frustration cos we may well lose and you will only spend more time getting angry on here suggesting that Cooks gonna get sacked despite me telling you that won’t be happening.
You say we have championship quality players but how many of our current bunch have proved this? Pilkington has played only a handful of games in 3 years. Windass is unproven at this level. Moore has scored one penalty in 15 games so the jury’s surely out despite him scoring in a star studded Welsh team against the might of Slovenia and Azerbaijan. Williams possibly but very inexperienced. Morsy OK. Mulgrew well past his best and can’t run, Robinson decent. Marshall after a really poor start has done OK. Other than that lots of players have tried and failed at this level or are speculative signings like Jamal Lowe. Given the finance available where would you expect us to finish in this league?
Cook ain’t going anywhere. Don’t waste your energy. Get behind team or don’t bother going to games. Go Xmas shopping with Mrs like VAT. If expectation is to be in top half of Championship with our crowds and income your likely to be disappointed. As an example our entire wage bill last recorded was 16 million. Stoke receive 35 million from Premier League in parachute payments alone and are still below us despite doubling our attendances and taking our best player from the last few years and putting him on the bench. Survival is our aim every season and Cook so far hasn’t found himself in the relegation spots too often.
If we can sign Gareth Bale from Real Madrid, Daniel James from United or Aaron Ramsay from Juve we would no doubt put the right balls into him!
That’s not strong leadership. It’s lily livered, pathetic, knee jerk pandering to mob.If our board, past and present, listened to our fans Whelan would have been gone 10 years ago. Martinez would have been sacked before we got to the greatest day in our history. We’d have £10 season tickets and free admission with a pie thrown in for good measure and a succession of sacked managers and owners because we hadn’t spent millions on players.
Especially here, football supporters are the last people that should be swaying club policy.
Haha. Let the ‘football men’ on here decide. Never kicked a ball some of em!
Against two top 6 sides in Swansea and Bristol City we had 34 shots on goal. Is it cooks fault that the players make such poor decisions in front of it?
Whilst others suggested putting young Gelhardt on would turn the game. Not seen much evidence of that in the last two fixtures. One goal against Hull was class. That apart he’s rarely touched ball. Looks like he needs a spell on loan to get to grips with mens football if we want to throw him in.
Or realistic and where we probably are as a club? Problem is we have been spoilt as fans of Wigan Athletic for years which has raised expectations to the point that people believe we should be challenging in the top half of the championship. Our club is run well and we exist within our means. Others dont.
