      this is fckin hilarious.

Like not one person on here would move jobs for a massive pay rise.

Ah – the classic argument. Well I’d have been a damn sight happier if he’d given that as a genuine reason, rather than more of the crap he’d been spitting at us for 4 years:

      “I’m shocked we got relegated”
“I’m not up to the job of getting Wigan back up”

So he went to Utd and won. Big fkin deal. If the Barcodes can go to OT and win, anyone can. Whipping boys of the Prem Utd at the mo ;)

And he then goes to the Emirates and draws – wow wee. Not like we never won there is it?

The Evertonians that I know worshipped Moyes just 12 months ago and used to bait me about Bob and Wigan…and are now worshipping Bob, laughing at Moyes and hoping he gets sacked. And what exactly did he do wrong? 4 years of underachievement? No. Relegation? No. No silverware? No.

I have no problem in recognising that Bob has proved that his philosophy – with the right resources – can deliver results. Christ he he gave us s glimpse for 10 or so games. But without the long term resources of the really big teams that will also run out of steam for Everton at some point.

Doesn’t change the fact that he left us in the shit – cup or no cup – and that he was the catalyst for the recent mess we’ve been through. And that’s coming from someone who’s rather enjoying being out of the Prem circus.

          Totally agree Barnsley and Lostock.

The one good thing Coyle did was swiftly rebuild a severely depleted squad – the majority of whom, with the right structure, are good enough to get us out of this division.

And I’m excited that Thursday night is going to be a belter rather than a meaningless friendly. So pleased we got the extra tickets and are taking a decent crowd for Uwe’s first game in charge. Could make himself an instant legend if he bags us a win and we get through thanks to Rubin.
Ironic too – when Maribor came Wigan it was their manager’s first game too.

Besides, Everton already had a replacement for Baines. Oviedo came on for Baines and scored against Liverpool. He played against Manchester United and scored the winner.

For someone who thinks Bob is old news and we should only be thinking about our club, you seem quite knowledgable about’s Martinez’s team selections Barnsley ;)

At least he’ll get us back to playing it the right way – IE the Bob way.

Not so sure about that SMB – this article is an interesting insight into Uwe’s philosophy.

Might actually be the man to unite the dark and light siders!
Quick passing, counter attacking football – ironically the same football that Brentford fell foul to when they missed out on automatic promotion ;)

Then again, what the fook do I know eh?
Bit of an understatement to say I didn’t see that coming.

At least we’re not bottom 3, are still (just) in Europe and not yet out of the FA Cup ;)

                  Farcical but the right decision.

Bollocks he may have, but just as his football shows, he also possesses very little tact.
Rather than reactively rile the fans even more, he’d have done better by being more empathetic. But then again, how many managers are when faced with such criticism? It’s much easier to argue your position than concede it.

Managers have been sacked in stronger positions than we are now, but those shouting for him to go are going to end up with very hoarse voices.
3 home defeats in a week and a potential drop out of Europe will be nowhere near enough to sway DW to pull the trigger – no matter how crap our play, how irate the fans or how unmotivated the players. As you say, we’re still on the edge of the playoffs with a game in hand – and 2/3 of the season to go.

Christ – DW let PJ and RM lose 9 on the trot and stuck with em, and even let Hutchings go for 6 or 7 losses from top spot before pulling the plug.
Like it or not, unless we’re bottom 3, out of Europe AND have just lost our opening FA Cup game to a lower league team…FKW is here to stay.

Agreed – felt v sorry for the lad.

And when you say there were others far worse than him – he didn’t even play badly at all. Along with Powell he was our best player and the midfield lost all structure when he was subbed.

Don’t know he bothers sticking with us.

First half overall I thought we were the better team, despite Zulte starting to control – we could have been 3 or 4 up. But as soon as their equaliser went in the heads dropped, the passion faded and the mistakes started to happen.

And for some reason we came out in the 2nd half with even less fire in the belly – perhaps the manner of their goal hit them hard.
Never have I seen so many Latics players so sluggish and dinterestes in getting back up the field – it was pathetic.

Not only are we in serious danger of not qualifying, we could end up finishing bottom of the group.

Couldn’t agree more with #1 or #2 Hugh. Utter garbage that 2nd half.

My mate said they all looked line fat birds running to the pie shop.

Felt very sorry for Gomez too – he got vilified for that one man-on mistake despite being our equal best player with Powell. I said to my mate as he went off that we’d now lose the game. Lo and behold, once he left the field our midfield lost all its structure.

Thrown away a landmark moment in our history tonight.

Seems like young Callum couldnt be arsed again

Even Boycie was having a go at him

Can you blame him? He didn’t have a role. Rather than hug the line he was always 10 yards in and was either being bypassed or taking the ball standing still and just passing it back out cos he had 2-3 players on him. Several times tonight it looked like he was the right back and Boyce was the marauding winger.
When he finally got into the game with about 15 min to go he got subbed!

The games haven’t been terrible to watch for four years!

The team has done its best to play football, often against teams with much more skilful players. Whilst Wigan have been cutting the size of their squad and their wage bill, other teams have been vastly increasing theirs.

Wigan have found it hard to compete, but not because of any lack of effort from the manager or the players. The players collectively simply weren’t good enough to compete with other squads.

                              Short memories Barnsley.
80% of the last fours years was not easy viewing – it was just that the other 20% was so sublime it completely subsumed the dross.

                                  Agreed JR.

Jay, Tez – I would steer clear from any of these free tavel insurance policies you get with bank accounts etc. Almost exactly 1 year ago me, the wife and kids plus mother and father in law were in a very serious motorway accident in Spain. Both me and the inlaws had travel insurance via our banks with different, “reputable”, well known insurers – and both of them did everything under the sun the avoid paying anything. My mother in law had to wait almost 4 weeks for a hip op in a public hospital in Malaga as the insurance tried to stop us going private or fly her home.

These policies are sold in volume ultra cheap to banks, etc in the hope that few are claimed upon. Any that are claimed upon are viewed as the least valuable to the insurers so they do anything they can keep down the payouts.

Steer well clear and go straight to the insurers – might cost you a couple of hundred but not worth the financial and emotional pain and stress if you are unfortunate enough to have to make a claim.
