Millwall will be playing in their home kit as they won the toss!! Looks like it could be red then?
You would think the FA would have released some news first but there is absolutely nothing on their site at the mo!!
too many jcl types on here for my liking ;)Lol – It could almost put you off joining in on this memory lane trip. Thought i’d watched us for a long time but there are some proper long suffering tics fans on here.
If Blackburn do win then it could be an interesting train journey to Wembley
There is a message on official wigan site advising updates will follow later this week on which day we will play on.

Was it Scharner, Alcaraz & Kone
Unbelievable really, they were great today and the win was well deserved. That team should start against Newcastle as we created plenty up front today.
Four players run each other close for MOTM today, Kone, Scharner, Alcaraz & Figs. Kone got it but for me Scharner was outstanding so would have just edged it.
More of the same Saturday Roberto :pinch:My main bugbear is the back line and I would like to know what the defence coach gets paid for because whoever it is just isn’t cutting it for me !
Has anything changed ? Deja vu ! Somebody somewhere needs to put their foot down and start whipping them into shape because there are too many errors week in week out from certain players !
Maybe you’re just the man for the job. You should get yourself down there and bang on Martinez’s door. It must pay better than window cleaning and even allowing for the pressure of club’s current league position it can’t be any more stressful. It might just cheer you up a bit which would be an added bonus for us all on here?
Speak for yourself Sammy, although this post is not to the liking of some i think it is well constructed. That’s what a forum is for to discuss football and where people can voice their opinions.
Firstly James, I wasn’t speaking for anyone else other than myself and neither did my post suggest otherwise.
I’ve come to the conclusion that filmoss is a miserable, pessimistic sourpuss who enjoys telling everyone how poor a team we have. Now, I’ve never met filmoss so I might be wrong but until I do, and I’m not losing sleep over it, I’ll stick to that opinion. You mentioned his post was well constructed but most of it is a quote by, I presume, Martinez from 18 months ago, but it could be the defence coach. Not particularly well constructed there then!
I suggested to filmoss that he might be the very man to put his foot down and whip them into shape seeing as it is quite obvious to him that this is the reason for our defensive frailties this season.
People watch the team they supposedly support for 90 minutes – less if you’re filmoss – maybe every two weeks and think they know better than the manager and his staff who work with the players every day.
Just try reading your post again Sammy..
Read the link on the initial post again and it might make sense. Blind Faith & destructive criticism seem quite apt for your post.My main bugbear is the back line and I would like to know what the defence coach gets paid for because whoever it is just isn’t cutting it for me !

Ironic really, does sound very much like this forum…
Without question the footy this season has been poor & boring at times. That is why we are where we are and if you pay your money you can have your say.
Are we building a team currently? Throughout our time in the prem we have had players who looked like prem players and looked destined for bigger clubs. I don’t see that in any of the signings Bob has made, well maybe Kone aside.Lets hope our friend Mr Friend doesn’t give another pen against then!
Nothing in this.
Boyce was annoyed Mcarthur mispassed and left him outside their box with no chance of getting back to defend the counter.
He got a clip round the ear and he probalby deserved it to be fair.
Hopefully thats where it will be left.
If McArthur deserved a clip round the ear for that misplaced pass then Boyce deserved one for getting turned so easily in the build up to their 1st!!!In fact I’d bet that McArthur said something pretty similar to Boyce when he was getting the verbals & Boyce didn’t take to that too kindly.
The spat wasn’t great to see but it’s not somet I’m worrying about – Steve Bruce & Peter Schmeichel used to be at each others throats every week at United
The disappointing thing for me about the incident was the bit that I seem to recall (some of them ales at the beer festival were mighty strong!!) MOTD showing where after the misplaced pass, Boyce chases back for about 5 yards before taking his eye off play & virtually stopping in order to give McArthur verbals whilst Liverpool are tearing forward into Latics penalty area. Players misplacing passes I can handle but Boyce neglecting his defensive duties just to have a go at someone whilst play is still progressing was very poor on his part
I know Boyce didn’t have his best game but that Coutinho looks a class act. Think most defenders would have struggled against him not just Boyce! Bit harsh blaming him alone, was more annoyed about no one picking Downing up personally!!
Speaking of Wk27, will they be updated soon
They’re due about 46 penalties apparently. Every time they get beat they should have had at least one.
Keep Suarez quiet and they’ve nothing.
Wouldn’t exactly agree with that one Egg. They are one of the highest scorers in the league this season home & away so we’ve gotta be careful. Sturridge has pace to burn which won’t suite Caldwell.
That said they do concede so if we play well again and press them there could be a few goals in this game
think we will get another win on Saturday as statistically we are due a home win.The Saturday night slot is a graveyard for betting slips across the land so don’t expect an easy ride for Liverpool and our record on Saturday nights isn’t too bad.Expect a semi p/ssed up crowd to give Brendan and his gang some verbal so let’s be optimistic for a positive result.
they have nothing to play for either and are a long way away from the power they once were.
Not getting carried away with recent wins but… i might just have a bet for a 3-2 win??
Now i’ve said it this will end up 0-0 :oops:Beausejour tenth in all season stats for assists in Premier League. Not bad for what many believe is a fat waster on the wing!
Not quite sure why you’ve mentioned Beausejour here unless it’s a veiled reference to the notion he provides a substantial amount of cover for Figueroa. However, that statistic is not a surprise to me. I’m also not surprised no one has mentioned his superb pass for Kone’s second goal yesterday because that would mean a good number of numpties on here having to back track on their opinion of him being “a fat waster on the wing”.
Let’s have it right Sammy, Beausejour has hardly set the prem alight this season has he. He had one of his better games against Reading for sure but for too many games this season he has been average.
He’s not the only one in a Wigan shirt who has “hardly set the prem alight this season” though is he, so why single him out? However, as bigroy stated in an earlier post, “Beausejour (is) tenth in all season stats for assists in Premier League”. Assuming that is correct, and I’ve no reason to believe it isn’t, that is “tenth” in the entire Premier League so his place in the team can be justified on that statistic alone.
Some people just don’t see, or don’t want to see, the bigger picture.
I’ll judge a player on what i see them do on the pitch and at the moment Bo doesn’t cut it for me. He cannot take a man on and beat him for pace. Most of his crosses come from one two’s or when he is found is acres of space. Some of the crosses he puts in are great no doubt, one against Southampton sticks in my mind where Di Santo got on the end of it and brought a save from their keeper. It just doesn’t seem to happen often enough.
Bo has no competition for his place and until such a time that he does he will be first choice and top the stats for us. Maybe now that we virtually have a fully fit squad he may be able to concentrate more on his attacking prowess and change a few peoples mindset?
