Sums up the season really that the moment of 100% safety has come from someone else losing tonight rather than us winning ourselves yesterday.

Job finally done though. Now let’s try to end the season on a high.

As I said in my earlier post, next season must be better or SM will soon be under widespread pressure. This season we’ve put up with the dross because it achieved (painfully) the aim.

Bruce wasn’t here for the entertainment that’s for sure.

As we had to start on -8 points, the number one priority was not to be relegated or be involved in the relegation dog fight. Achieved.

After recent turmoils, a quiet season on the pitch with a mid table finish was what we needed. Achieved. (barring freaky results)

But it’s come at a price for sure. The football has been mind numbing to put it mildly. As bad as I can remember in my 22 years watching us. Has Danson got his clubs mixed up and told the boys they’re only allowed to pass backwards? :mail:

So for me SM gets the benefit of the doubt this season. Next season things must be improved drastically or the fans will turn on him quickly. Quiet mid table won’t do next year; we need to be pushing for the play offs as a minimum and above all, play to entertain the paying public!!

Something fishy about all this :mail:

1 deflected goal is unfortunate. 2 deflected goals it really isn’t your day.

Just shows what can happen if you’re prepared to have a crack at goal…lessons to learn from our former manager!

Please cut out the short corners and get the ball in the box every time.

    Complete horseshit of a post

    Go on then, explain why?

    He’s clueless.

You know what the future of this club needs?

    1. A manager recruited from outside of any club links. We always go for a manager with club links…its bizarre. No other club is so ‘inward’.
    2. A manager who is not some radical appontment, like Kolo The Clown was.
    3. An experienced manager who isn’t brainwashed by the ‘Pep Style’.

Worked well with Coyle, Mackay and as for Yootha Joyce….

This century our better managers have been ex players for us ie Jewell, Martinez, Caldwell (he did win L1), Cook, Richardson being the exception

M6 has been closed since about 1230 today southbound between J27-26 and it’s utter chaos out there tonight on the roads

In view of that and the weather as well sadly I’ll be missing tonight. Good luck to all those who make it to the ground tonight and if Saturday is anything to go by, good luck staying awake!

    in reply to: Wembley… #201897

Ironic to call Saturday’s game a six pointer; let’s say it’s somewhere between 4 and 8 points :mail:

Arguably the most important game so far this season, win we’re looking comfortable, lose we’re in the mire.

3 homes on the bounce I think we need 6 points min…up the Tics. Danson won’t have got where he’s got to without exercising his firing finger a few times which shouldn’t be lost on SM.

On a personal note, can’t wait to be back on Saturday…missed the last 3 home games due to covid :negative: :negative:

in reply to: Lucky to get nil… #201654

Recovering from Covid so couldn’t go. Doubt I’ll be there Friday either

Doesn’t sound like I missed much?

For me it’s not so much what they’ve done (I get that, reluctantly, that it’s for financial reasons) but how it’s been done.
Really poor that there was no prior consultation with the supporters’ groups. It makes us loyal ST holders feel like an irrelevance.
If the East stand had to be given away, then why not pre allocate the centre blocks of the North stand to East ST holders? (Allowing them to take up available seats in West/South if they wanted.
Then allow West/South ST holders first refusal on their own seats?

The Easters would still be p!ssed off but at the moment most are p!ssed off

How many other clubs would make such a mess out of what should be our biggest game in years?

in reply to: Cup tickets #201463

    ??

Have another read of the announcement.

    ManUre getting the East stand

No season ticket holders guaranteed their own seats in South/West stands either

in reply to: Chester or York? #201304

Fixtures are piling up. No surprises but Wycombe game just confirmed as off.

Bolton 6th Jan looking very doubtful given both clubs’ 2nd round games.

Wonder when the Peelers will let us play that!

in reply to: Wyke ???? #201251

    On team sheet toneet

    Let’s see how he goes

    UTFT :good:

    in reply to: Better…. #201181

Stones has a look of Shearer about him or is that the warming glass of Shiraz? Tickle destined for higher places as well

Seriously good result that toneet following on from Exeter.

First 15 min it did look like 2nd v 21st but a goal changes a game. Decent ref as well which is a novelty this season!

Didn’t it look so much brighter with all the artificial lights in use? I think Danson has a few more 50p’s for the meter than the Bahrainian Bandits :yahoo:

    in reply to: Inflation .. !!! #200919

A pint was 1 shilling and sixpence at Goole in 1971 :yahoo:

    Allegedly…
