Yet in another quote elsewhere, Leam has gone on to say that he is aware we need signings.

There is no point signing anyone for signings sake.

Mutty ,as you are a die hard Black Cats fan were you there yesterday or were you watching your main club getting beat at Hull ? For someone who was brought up in Springfield I can’t get my head around why you support Sunderland ,what’s your connection with them ? Do you have family from there ? Will be interesting next season , I think Sunderland have issues behind the scenes ( ownership problems )that they need to sort out before they can really move forward. As for us ,I am more than confident ,with a few shrewd additions , we will be competitive in the Championship .

    Yes.
    No.
    Yes.

Could you elaborate , not really a satisfactory answer is it . You stopped watching Latics , attached yourself to another football club you have no connection with but carried on supporting Wigan Warriors ,does not make a lot of sense does it, unless that is you have the same hate towards Latics that basically you are accusing Bullit of having towards the Warriors.

This is the bit I don’t get either. Turns his back on the football club, switches allegiances to another that is miles away, yet continues to support the r***y!! And to top it off comes on here frequently & elsewhere as pie eater. Why do you continue coming onto this forum? And please answer that question & the ones asked before by bullit & phoenix. But for some reason you can’t give reasonable answers.

I was only 6 years old at the time of our admission into the league so didn’t really know the significance of that day, especially our very first home game.

Grimsby at home was my very first match. My dad & I stood at the part of the ground where those odd looking grey “things” would occupy that part of the ground many years later. I don’t remember too much about the game, but remember all the fans in & around me singing oggy, oggy, oggy & enjoying a carnival atmosphere.

A few weeks ago I had a dream where the DW was closed for repairs so we had to go back to Springfield Park to play our home games. I remember turning around to my dad & said I know it’s not the best of grounds, but it’s kinda good to be back. It is son, it sure is my dad replied.

With that kind of positivity, I’ll have us down to win next year’s Eurovision Song Contest. :yahoo:

I didnt think you’d have the balls to put your money where your mouth (or keyboard) is. Your suggestion that Power has a better chance of returning to the Championship with Wigan is based on what exactly?

    1) A better manager for starters;

    2) & a decent guy to boot.

    3) A great team spirit & bond at Wigan due mainly to the guy at numbers 1 & 2.

    4) perhaps not the same kind of pressure a.t wigan to succeed as there is in the north east

    5) probably feels more home at wigan & is appreciated by tics supporters.

    6) I bet you’re feeling quite silly now.

From the despair of the last 18 months to league champions this season. What a club.

Aye! He’s never happy is our Cup Winners.

Wouldn’t necessarily be a disaster. Vladimir Putin pushing the button however :negative:

I think Magennis plays a lot better with another striker up top with him.

Believe me Mr Brownbill I was utterly disappointed not going to Wembley. I was feeling the bug, the excitement, the build up of another Wembley trip. I was due to work on the day of the final, but booked annual leave, which I have now sadly cancelled.

We lost vs Sutton on a penalty shoot out. In other words a lottery that goes either way. We had no god given right to beat Sutton. In much the same way Man City had no god given right to beat us.

Then again Jay these “trolls” may not be trolling at all and aren’t wearing rose tinted glasses.

Nobody is wearing rose tinted glasses. Some of us support our club no matter what. I get the impression you & Mr Brownbill are only ever happy when we lose so you can be proven right & say “see I told you so!”

A few on other sites said Shinniw MOTM last night. Has your opinion changed cupwinners? I thought he showed a lot of coolness, calmness & composure on the ball & looked for passes instead of us hoofing it all the time.

As for Magennis, I thought he looked a lot sharper when he came on & up for it. But I’d definitely start Humphreys on Saturday.

How many of us experienced a crushing defeat at the start of our love affair with Latics?

Me for starters. My first ever game was our first ever home game in the 78/79 season vs Grimsby. That was a defeat. But I most certainly caught that “latics bug” that was going around.

    in reply to: Magennis #195563

I don’t think Shinnie in particular was crap. It’s hard to come into a side that has settled & is winning games. The same problem with Magennis. However I haven’t really been impressed so far in what I’ve seen of him.

Go back to the 3 centre back formation & get humphrys playing up front with lang with Keane behind. Power & Shinnie (or Rea) in midfield with Naylor behind in a holding role.

Shame they can’t attend most home games.
