Read the four posts above. That’s what I was talking about on that other thread.
The inevitable reply. This little clique you have going on, The all things Wigan Athletic is rosy and the greatest club ever blah blah. Why can’t people just say what the truth is and the FACT of what situations are. It’s easy, If we have played shit then don’t be afraid to criticize, That’s what fans do. Your one sided and predictable arguments are the same on every post. Just because you and Griff etc think you are braniacs doesn’t make it so. It’s easy to stick your head in a thesaurus and call people thick all the time. Griff tried it on another post but i didn’t bother then low and behold one of ‘The CL Firm’ crops up and adopts the same usual tactic. You don’t know any of us so how the fuck would you know. I would suggest the inability to see the world through anything other than rose tinted glasses is rather thick. Im just so glad i’m individual, Using my own brain to come up with my own answers and opinions, Not in a group of about 5 people telling everyone they know fuck all when they know just as much. Just because we have different views doesn’t make the person you disagree with thick. It just means they have alternative answers. Must be fantastic being right about everything, You must all be millionaires and high ranking Masons. Wish i was that clever.
Is Dave having an eppy again
I don;t think this one is Dave.after reading through all that standish i came to the conclusion you might be stressed
do you lose sleep at nights ?
chill out mon relax smoke some funny stuff thi yed ull feel more relaxed monSleep? Ha. Sleeping’s for wimps.
Hit yourself over the head with a brick for a few minutes and then you’ll probably understand why some post what they post.

1. Where have I accused you of being thick? (my one thick gybe was aimed as Wiganmon – who I don’t know, but I do believe to be thick) As it happens I don’t consider you to be thick
2. I don’t argue with facts; I argue with opinions
3. I know quite a few from this forum in the real world, and they’re all decent people
4. Have never used a thesaurus to post on a forum. If I did, then it would be a sign that I was taking things far too seriously
5. My view is far from rose-tinted. I appreciate the club’s limitations and never claimed Martinez was a fantastic manager (if you think I have, you’ve confused me with someone else). I liked what he was doing for the club but have stated that he had faults
6. I’m glad you’re glad you’re an individual. If my opinion on certain things is the same as other people’s does that mean I have to change my opinion to be individual? I think I’m the only one on this forum who would prefer Coyle to Bruce. Surely that’s individual enough
7. No, having a different view doesn’t mean you’re thick. But if my opinion is different, I’ll tell you. What’s what a forum is for. The likes of Wiganmon – who I called thick – rarely share any opinions. They usually just post childish comments
8. If I argue with you, it doesn’t mean I’m right. Again, that’s what a forum is for. If you don’t like to argue, don’t post
9. I don’t have to be intelligent to be in the masons, or to be a millionaire, although I appreciate there are some people who post on this forum who are far more cleverer than me
10. Are you usually this paranoid? None of the posts on this thread were aimed at you

brown shoes and a clueless expressionI didn’t think you went to games these days.
The luviees are having a mutual love in,ahh bless there little Martinez under pants, the little loves, genius :lol:Great post. You are one real thicko aren’t you?
They continue to shed tears for their beloved Spanish Prince. In his final premier league season, the culmination of his faith in Caldwell, injury selection problems and insistence on all the passing in the world ended in the disaster of relegation. He also steered them to an FA Cup success. Which is as brilliant as relegation is devastating. Kind of cancels each other out.
Good luck to him. He is gone.
The bobby happy clappers still can’t take it. They still dream of their little prince, looking through romantic tearry eyes, still asking why. For some folk on here it will feel like their first girlfriend has dumped them. And gone out with an older boy from school. Still standing up for her when people say to them as they dry their eyes “she used you as a stepping stone, to move on, there are other fish in the sea”, to be met with “but I love bobby, it’s not fair……”
Dry your eyes. He has gone. Time to move on.
Oh Stuart, you really are a fascinating case.
You have deluded yourself into thinking that because people have supported Martinez during his time at the club, they must have personal affection for the man and will pine for him to return.
In reality, those same people who supported him will support the next manager just as vehemently, and it will more than likely be those who have been forever on Martinez’s back who will be first to react badly towards the new manager if all does not go well.
Yours was an interesting post nonetheless, and I might print it off and show it to my boss.
Exactly, The majority of it has been total dross, It’s easy to palm over the 9-1, 8-0, 5-0 and multiple 4-0’s with ‘We won the F.A Cup. He may well turn out to be a good manager but in 4 years here he was bloody awful. This youth system he spouts about, No home grown Wigan players have come through it yet, Just players signed from other sides who were lumped into it. AND… This youth thing will disappear now Roberto has gone anyway. Whelan won’t have that little problem on his shoulders now. Under Bruce we played some good stuff, We finished comfortably and didn’t leak a guaranteed 2 goals a game. I hope Martinez fails spectacularly, Lied his way out of the club, Left us in the lurch and did the opposite of everything he said he wouldn’t.What a gem of a comment!
I’ll name three off to top of my head who have come through the ranks:
Lee Nicholls – signed from amateur football as a young lad
Calum McManaman – signed as a 16 year old when Everton deemed him not good enough and released him
Roman Golobart – signed as a 17 year oldThe youth system that Martinez developed is four years old. So homegrown lads who were signed when they were 12 or 13 are still only 16 or 17 now. The Wigan youth set up is full of homegrown players.
Alternatively, if you want a player to come into the youth setup and be ready to step up to the first team squad in a year or two, – like Fyvie or Campabadal of course you have to sign him from another club because 12 year olds can’t play in the Premier League!
And why is ‘this youth thing’ a problem? Far from it. The ‘youth thing’ is there to counteract a problem – ie. we can’t afford to simply buy players and we have a need to produce our own.
Here’s a poser.Would you prefer Bruce or Coyle?
Personally, I’d prefer Coyle.
Bruce’s style of play doesn’t attract young players to a club, and we can’t afford to spend like we have done in the past.
Coyle gets his teams playing decent football.
And forget Coyle’s Bolton connection. Al Habsi, Per Frandsen, Emerson Thome, Scott Green, Bruce Rioch all played for/managed Bolton.
Just seems like an easy out does this, If true. There are far more managers with potential than Coyle. Though he did do a good job at Burnley and in Scotland but hit a brick wall with funds at Bolton.I don’t think Whelan is interested in progression though. All money to him, No other chairman pimps out his managers or players. It’s a laughable way to conduct yourself if you were slightly interested in progression. Money, money, money, Sod the fans. We don’t deserve a football club after all though do we as we don’t sell out every game according to him and line his pockets. If he doesn’t get his own way he cries to the relevant people who will listen. You won’t get bums on seats if you don’t show that you want us to progress. Not just spending cheap and hoping for a fluke promotion to come straight back down again. It’s time to hand the club over. If it’s in profit then it will sell, Not how Dave makes out how no one wants it, no money ever comes in, not a pot to piss in blah blah.
What exactly do you think Whelan lines his pockets with when all the money received from sales is needed to merely keep the club afloat?
It would be a case of ‘sod the fans’ if the club went into administration, but that hasn’t happened and we’ve had eight years as the smallest club ever to play in the Premier League – with an FA Cup win, and you’ve got one man to thank for all of that.
‘You won’t get bums on seats if you don’t show that you want us to progress.’ That’s not entirely true. After finishing 10th in the Premier League, the club tried to increase season ticket prices and the average attendance dropped. If finishing 10th in your first season in the Premier League isn’t progress, I don’t know what is. Even if the club filled the empty 6,000 or so seats for the entire season, they’d make around £3million extra. Wiganers turn up if it’s cheap.
Whelan has said for years that’s he’d sell the club, and there isn’t exactly a queue of Arab billionaires waiting to snatch his hands off.
People don’t buy football clubs to make money, so the fact we’re in profit is irrelevant – otherwise after you’d bought it, it’d take you fifteen years or more just to break even. What’s the point?
But you want him to merely hand it over? To who exactly and why should he?
Not as important any more. You’ll be playing Bournemouth, Doncaster & Barnsley, not Man Utd, Spurs & Chelsea next year. Them pit village sides are used to a muddy churned up pitch like. That well known pit village that is Bournemouth. Bet it’s a hell-hole for all those miners living in Sandbanks.
As far as I understand it, Bobby remains manager of Wigan Athletic, but has told DW he wants to leave, DW will let him leave so long as he gets compensated for it, simples.
I choose to read it a slightly, subtely different way. He has asked to speak to Everton which is not quite the same as asking to leave. May ultimately end up meaning the same thing.
I think there is still a good chance that Bob could be left high and dry here, because if he is going to stay, there is some serious back-tracking to be done by one 76-year old chairman before that could happen. It’s interesting that Roberto has said absolutely zip in public since this started. That gives him total deniability!
http://www.conspiracy-theories-r-us.com[/quote%5D
There is a notable silence from both Martinez and the club regarding all of this.Whelan in speaking out of turn shocker!
I honestly believe we won the FA Cup despite Roberto, not because of him.
May I suggest that that is the biggest piece of shite that has been posted on here for many a year.
FFS. Even if it’s through gritted teeth give the bloke some credit.
When we lose or get relegated, it’s because of the players Martinez has signed. When we win the FA cup with those players he has singed, the players get the credit not Martinez.
No wonder you’re leaving Roberto!
How do they give a false impression? The only way Martinez got himself a transfer kitty was by first selling some of his squad.
Yes, Bosselli was a mistake (as were Marlon King £4m, Jason Koumas £5.3m, Julius Aghahowa £2.5m, David Connolly £2m etc signed by previous managers)
I’m not disputing who signed who. I’m outlining the fact that Martinez had less budget than his predecessors.
To quote the article the figures are taken from:
‘To quickly summarize the activity of the three, Paul Jewell entered the Premier League with a small squad on low wages. He was able to invest substantially in both transfer fees and wages. Steve Bruce, while given a larger net spend, had liberty to increase the wage bill. Roberto Martinez has presided over the lowest net spend as well as a shrinking wage budget while also expanding the squad.’
