Imagine if you went to work this morning and your bosses said to you
” if you graft and work your bolocks off for the next 9 months you may get a pay rise of 5000% but you have to give it 5000% and you won’t be paid much at the moment but look at what you could get! ”
That is what this league is about and the sheer desire and hunger of the lesser paid promising players at this level is something to behold and bloody good on them.
Contrast that with the ex premier league deadwood still earning ridiculous salaries and still thinking they are the dogs b@@@@x and above their station.
That is why the leadership in the championship changes each week and teams will fight till the last second because everybody wants that big payday particularly lads who have never had one.
I hope they get up because the EPL is full of mid table flotsam like Sunderland and Stoke doing nothing but getting to 40 points and picking up the money without actually striving for anything at least they would have a go and inspire others from the lower divisions to do the same.
I remember years ago travelling to dean court and getting there very late after a nightmare journey , I couldn’t get in through the turnstiles as they were closed but the sympathetic office staff let us in for free and refused any money we offered ( the club were skint at the time- 1997 I think) them.
Smal ground or not they would be a very very welcome addition to the stagnation that is setting in to the league and an inspiration to smaller clubs throughout the lower divisions, bring it on I say and good luck to them ,they are now my second team!!!!

Nobody is in a relegation battle until the last few game because no team ever gets relegated in november and never has done!
If we carry on averaging a point a game we sure as hell will be come late March early April and it would be a disaster for a club that strived so hard to reach THIS level all those years ago never mind the one we finally arrived at?
Something is very wrong i think behind the scenes and it needs dealing with very very quickly!

Andy Delort might have scored last night because they were two absolutely appalling teams and both will get relegated as I fully expect QPR and Leicester to get their acts together.
Gomez played okay but hardly a great win as I fancy many teams will stuff Palace this season and Sunderland are equally as bad.
We will probably be playing both of these teams next season

Micky Quinn went on to have a pretty good career after we gave him away for nothing as it was thought he wasn’t good enough.
Didn’t haunt us, but was certainly one that got away, and it is never mentioned that he ever played for us.

mickey himself mentioned his time at the club in his autobiography with some crazy tales about a club holiday in Malta.
I have also heard him refer. To Latics as ” my old club” on Talksport on a regular basis.
the club actually PAID to get rid of him allegedly !!!
maybe it was the wake up call he needed because his strike rate t his various clubs afterwards would make him worth a very large amount of money in today’s game .
I actually saw him score his first goal for the club and when we ( then kids) ran on the pitch to congratulate him at the end he actually said thanks.
has always struck me as a very modest self effacing type of bloke which maybe was the reason for his rather casual attitude to the game but never any doubt about his ability at scoring goals.
                  one that got away indeed

Maybe we have hit rock bottom and things will improve from now on and let’s also not forget that was one filthy s//t of a night on Tuesday weather wise!!!
Derby are on a blitz of a run and I have had a feeling all week that we will chalk up a win on Saturday despite everything that is going on.

danny Murphy and Rude Gullitt eat your heart out!!!!

I wouldn’t read much into the Figeuroa signing. He is poo as it is but it’s a last ditch attempt by Rosler to get the fans back on side. Far too late though. He has pretty much the same squad as last year and has made some ‘improvements’. But they have gone backwards.

There is only one man who can save Wigan Athletic now (and possibly get them up this season)

Gentleman i give you Mr. Tony Pulis. Record speaks for itself and his success and stability speaks even louder. Keeping Rosler is a hiding to nothing and a mediocre mid table or worse finish.

Do you honestly think a manager with his talents would even considera club in the champioship given the offers he could get over the next few weeks?
the Premier league sacking season is about to start and the clubs fearing relegation (despite relegations Not i occuring until next April at least ?) will be queuing up for his services given what he did at Palace last season.
I reckon Burnley,QPR,Newcastle,Blunderland,Leicester are just a number of clubs that could dispense with their respective managers over the next few weeks and no doubt he is waiting for the call from a premier league club fearing relegation.
Any new manager will have the same problems – oversized squad ,fickle supporters kicking off at the slightest thing because they have been spoiled in the EPL for eight years plus a euro league season last year.
one win and all these negative posts will no doubt disappear , I have said elsewhere I feel we will get a result tomorrow at Derby to get the season moving again- and no I haven’t had a drink!

The bit where the commentator in ‘Escape to Victory’ turns the sound up after the Nazi team’s penalty and says ” the crowd is going wild” when really it is muted silence springs to mind!

Totally unacceptable performance for a wigan athletic team-Lazy and tepid performance and totally negative- can they get any worse???

Yes it was utter and complete sh/te however we have to stay with it and hope this poor run ends at some point.
The high pressing game that Rosler adopted is missing and replaced with a dreadful long ball game and utter panic around the box when they get near goal.
seems to be a lazy atmosphere around the place and an acceptance of failure from many of the players- our supporters did really well trying to gee them up.
