0-3 I think midweek evening match …. first home League game
Noise Bloody Hell, I couldn’t make out a sodding word at Springfield , half time scores, may as well have been the shipping forecast for all I could make out
and I was a Bloody sight younger then….. now the half time bollocks is fkn deafening…….I don’t give a shit about the lad trying to kick a dead ball into the goal ….Jesus …you can’t chat to your pals or the blokes you know in the next blockGod I’m a miserable old sod ……but
I’ve earned the piggin right !
Preston losing Hugill ?
Well I might be biased but I reckon he’ll fit right in with the shower who came here last Saturday, Hugill is a useless lumpRochdale pitch is in a bit of a state I hear and Tuesday nights game is already in doubt. Obviously nothing for certain yet but it was rumoured at the ground that Rochdale proposed a fixture swap and play Tuesdays match at the DW just in case. Apparently we weren’t agreeable to that.
This action is a disaster for football and all we can hope for is that it explodes spectacularly in their faces.
Amen !!
500 grand a week to a multi millionaire …….despicable
FA Cup Stu …. no ifs and buts …. as others have said relegation was really only a question of ‘when’…..and the fact that we did 8 years up there I think is phenomenal in hindsight.
You OUGHT to prioritise the cup as even if you go down, again it’d only be a matter of ‘when’ you came back up ….but your ownership and the new stadium issue will make them desperate to stay up above all else.
Only went to Upton Park once for a Xmas/New Year game in our first Prem season (it was Bloody freezing but we won 2-0 !)…..can’t help thinking that you stopped being the real West Ham when you left one of the few unique English football grounds….that’s the way of it these days though
Pretty certain I knew Danny a long time ago , was he 60 or about to turn 60 and a former St Edwards/Thomas More lad ?
Halifax in the FA cup is the coldest I can ever remember being at a match, got home after walking back over the Gant pad to Newtown and holding my feet to the
Coal fire … “you’ll get chilblains”….”I Couldn’t give a bugger I’m not budging from this fire till April”Billy Sutherland scored from the corner….can’t remember owt about the Graham Oates goal ?
Toney awful, lacked any goal threat generally but not sure we deserved to lose. Burn just didn’t defend for their goal, gave the lad yards and let him have a strike at goal. Not sure of keeping but to me didn’t look too clever.
Nah, in no way was Jamie Jones to blame. [/quote]
Thought he was at fault at the time, now I’ve seen it on Sky he definitely was at fault, their man struck it very well, but it was straight at him…..and straight through
Well I’ll have a moan …
What Bloody voucher ??
West stand turnstile operator took my cash but I got bugger all back !
Hard lines, but not a bad effort all told
It’s the inconsiderate buggers getting married in the season that really get on my nerves , not as if I particularly want to attend their wedding
or that of their offspring in any caseJournos keep going on about Paul Pogba and how Man Utd let him go. Chelsea must be kicking themselves when they watch highlights of De Bruyne playing like that.Correct !
Yes indeed it was !
Apparently Lee. Koo was from Liverpool and his Mum and Dad ran a Chinese chippy…..stereotypical but I believe true nonethelessVery ancient …..
About 71 ? We played at Boston in the FA Trophy won 1-0 Lee Koo goal ……I went on the coach, having found a pound note in the ‘backs’ behind our street ( riches beyond the dreams of avarice)
Coach fare was billed as “19 shillings or 95 new pence “……..that dates it a bit !
Looked it up 6th Feb 1971……I were 12 !
I heard him on the radio tonight and he cited leaving Wigan as the start of his problems. Said he loved it here and didn’t want to leave.
First started getting anxiety attacks when he started the travelling to and from Sheffield Wednesday
Good luck to him and hope he maintains his recovery. -
