Lee McCulloch – the way he, by his own admission, conducted himself was far worse than Chimbonda
Still gave his all on the field though
His “all” resulted in a sending-off in his last game and allowed Heskey to gain cult status as a centre-half.
I personally have no problem with McCulloch.
If we are working away from home and are lucky enough to be offered more money but living closer to my family I know what I would do.
In that respect footballers are no different from the rest of us.Chimbonda was our first example of a foreign player making his name with Latics and demanding his dream move. It taught us a lesson, but we used this as our player recruitment model afterwards.
I personally have a problem with those who jumped ship just as we got promotion. However, Ellington assumed wrongly that he had a better chance of staying up at West Brom.
Wigan linked with QPR winger Matt PhillipsWho is related to Boycie and who Mackay made Blackpool and offer for when he was at Cardiff.
He has now involved his lawyers saying his departure wasn’t by mutual consent.
Sam Cosgrove travelling with the squad to Birmingham.
Wouldn’t it great if we can put all the striker talk to bed and he comes in and shows how to put the ball in the net.
There was a report a couple of years ago that said 3 out of 5 Premier League footballers are bankrupt within 5 years of retiring.
Footballers and money still don’t go well together and there are others who try and do benefit from the increase in wages.
I think he probably required one of those winky things after Rubbish. He’s pretty hard to understand our Egg, must be the rugby bit, scrambled him.
Thanks!
Is the interpreter service free of charge?Waghorn missed a penalty and scored from the follow-up!!
Rubbish
If it is rubbish ask the club to correct the match report.
http://www.wiganlatics.co.uk/news/article/report-wrexham-1-3-wigan-johnson-waghorn-2188371.aspx
See Waghorn scored yesterday for the under developed team, some good news that he’s returning in all this shite. Delort didn’t take any part.Waghorn missed a penalty and scored from the follow-up!!
I was more interested in Joey Johnson scoring the other 2.I also see Rogne, Kvist and Fyvie played. Otherwise the team was full of youngsters.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see a coaching team made up of Mackay, Black and Caldwell next season.
There will be no room for Barrow amongst the Scottish Mafia. If Steven Gerrard is such a greedy get, why did he choose to stay at Liverpool instead of going to Chelsea for the big bucks?I’m just reading Riera off to Deportivo on loan?
Who will we be left with and who has Malky got in mid as a Jan purchase upfront?
In all likelihood it will be somebody he has worked with before.
Any gems from his Cardiff or Watford days?
So the latest rumour is Danny Graham, who Mackay knows from Watford.
If true, I’m unsure he is our saviour.
Decent finisher and has had a good scoring record at this level, but Swansea couldn’t get rid of him fast enough amid rumours of drink and even drug problems.Since at Sunderland has been loaned out and seems to have been sent back wherever he went.
On the positive side, maybe Malky is the man to get the best out of him.
And has there been national outrage similar to how we used to be treated with pics of an empty stand. Tagged with “The FA Cup has lost it’s magic”?No? This was my point. Not to slag off other teams crowds.
Everything seems to go whooooooosh these days on here.
Noted Mutty turns up at the mention of a crowd….he isn’t obsessed though.
To be fair at least a couple of the papers seemed to make a point of it.
The “lazy” journalist was probably rubbing his or her hands when adding the picture of the empty stand to complete the match report masterpiece.I know we need to be thick skinned as Latics fans, but I don’t think there is a vendetta against us. It is just boring journalism.
Having said that I don’t see too much being made of QPR’s 16k home fans and empty seats for league matches.I would say that Gerrard made a better decision how to use his disposable income than Jimmy did.
FORMER Hull City player Jimmy Bullard is said to have lost up to £650,000 in a failed investment scheme now being investigated by police.
The Sunday People reports that dozens of football stars could be involved in the affair involving millions of pounds of failed investments.
Bullard and players including former Spurs striker Robbie Keane are said to have been joined the scheme with promises of huge returns on their investments.
A police investigation has now started after former Coventry and Wolves player Michael McIndoe, 35, went bankrupt in October with debts of at least £3million.
Because he’s indicative of how wasting money was not restricted to Bruce. Personally, I think Rosler spending £6m on two strikers he never picked was more wasteful. And I’d rather keep 20 players on Steve Bruce wages than a squad of 30 on Rösler wages.
OK, fair enough. Bramble was a bad example becasue I wasn’t trying to suggest that Bruce had wasted money, just that he had more of it to spend and therefore had the opportunity to bring in better quality players.
Bramble always sticks in my mind though, because to me, it’s an indication of how mental football had become when Wigan Athletic were spending £40k per week on a player like that.
And seemingly Bramble put a large portion of that £40k aside to help him retire at the age of 31!!!
Unless there is another reason he hasn’t played since being released from Sunderland 2 years ago.Are after a new Manager after Neil Adams resigns.Strange one when they’re in 7th.
Especially as they won their last 2 home games 5-0 and 6-1.
