On the basis that the bookies rarely get it wrong and the worst team always finishes bottom over 38 games…they have us as being the 4th worst team come May,albeit by a whisker
http://www.oddschecker.com/football/eng … relegation
I’ll take 17th now
I’m sorry but you’ve completely missed the point there. Don’t you know that Roberto Martinez is the antichrist and loudmouthblue is the saviour of Wigan Athletic ?
Good to see someone else on here “gets it”, well said northern soul ;)
Fantastic post Edinburgh mon, a very astute assessment of where we are
Jose Mourinho
Although it would never happen as he would be ” too defensive minded ” for several people on this website ;)
I dont really see how you disagree with hindley to be honest. He is 100 percent correctNo he’s not. He is implying that Blackburn are a “yellow water” team we should be beating. I simply pointed out, that “yellow water” or not, we haven’t ever beaten them at their ground whether the manager was Martinez, Bruce or Jewell. This is a fact
How is it 100% correct that we should beat a team whom we’ve never previously beaten? Based on the fact, history etc I’d say it was closer to 0% correct that we should be beating teams like Blackburn but don’t let your rants get in the way of the facts.
As for the too defensive argument, we scored two legitimate goals away from home which is easily above average
We also had 10 shots on target and 6 off target,
That notoriously defensive outfit Chelsea managed 9 on target and 7 off target at Ewood Park last week.
Either you expect us to be a more attacking side than Chelsea or you are making the mistake of letting your emotions get in the way of facts ( again ) :roll:Very poor excuse blamein the ref today,we had plenty of the ball but we cant put it in the net,all the passing about doesnot win us games,Rovers two attemps two goals,Spanish one its not rocket science goals wins us games. :roll:I think thats his point. We did put it in the net.Twice. So did they, but we did it twice legitimately and they did it once legitimately.Whose fault is that if its not the officials?
Indeed.
How much longer can this go on?
How much longer can a provincial town with 55 million of debts and losses, and barely 10000 home fans continue to sustain a place in the English Premier League. Especially when a fair chunk of the spoilt brats who claim to support the team amongst that 10000 are spitting their dummy out at the manager for not beating a team who we’ve never beaten at their ground, except for a lancashire cup tie in the mid eighties ( & even that was on penalties IIRC ) Even when they would have beaten that team were it not for some shocking refereeing & linesmen’s decisions. Grow up and give yourselves a shake you big mary ellens, and get behind the team, the way some of you behave its like you want us to get relegated :roll:Cant believe whoever it is has lasted 25 posts on there. Are they mellowing ?

Looks like they are going back to their usual playground tricks of editing the posts because they have no answer to it
Funny isn’t it how people like “Seawall Athletic” who turn up on here don’t fare very well when they roll up on this site thinking the outside, rational world shares the same view as their insular, bigoted views only for them to get sent packing with their tails between their legs because they don’t have the ability ( as with their own site ) to ban/delete/edit things they don’t like on here
If censorship is the only way you can win, then you’ve lost…
Funny how every thread on your site quickly turns into slagging off Latics
Especially the 18 page one filled with hatred about the little football club across town which never did you any harm. You know the one which was deleted because the national press were onto it and were going to blow your cover as fair minded sports fans ;)

One thing’s true, Wigan Warriors would never have a shop like that, none of the fat elephants who watch them would be able to get in
what’s all this about Scholes ???[/quote]
Heard from a very good source at the weekend that the “sign” thread got deleted because the PR dept at WW got twitchy once the national press were getting wind of it and were worried that the family sport might be portrayed as a bunch of bigoted narrow minded inbreds if proper national journalists read it and so they asked the site admins to remove it ;)

We got promoted in 2005 and are now an established lower mid table Premier League club.We have been in the PL longer than the 3 clubs I mentioned
Newcastle,Sunderland and Birmingham are in 14th, 15th and 17th place so are teams of a similar standard to us.Hmm and how do we compare to these clubs in terms of the following key areas all of which impact the ability to recruit and maintain a team ?
Financial position
Size of fan base
Commercial pulling power
Transfer and wage budget:|
hardly anyone plays RL outside of wigan.?
try opening your eyes to the massive amateur game that is thriving . oxford and cambridge uni’s , the armed forces the midlands, i could go on ..Oh right so we’re including amateurs now are we. Why didn’t you say that in the first place. In that case Wigan Athletic has brought hundreds of players through, many of who have played semi and fully pro, in addition to that there are dozens, if not hundreds if you include junior teams in the Wigan areas with hundreds of Wigan footballers. If you’re including a few dozen Northern oiks exiled at posh universities down south in your analysis of rugby league I’m including probably thousands of amateur footballers in Wigan to ensure we’re being consistent.
Try again.
BTW A product of the Wigan Athletic Youth policy who has played several times in the first team played in front of 48,000 yesterday North of the border at the weekend http://boards.footymad.net/forum.php?tn … 2119932205
unbelievable drivelFeel free to keep passing things off as drivel because you fail to understand them. I shall try again and make it as simple as possible for you:
You seem to have only two things to say
1 ) lots of professional Rugby players come from Wigan
2 ) not too many professional footballers come from WiganThe reasons for this as several people have tried to get you to register in that tiny little brain of yours is that
1 ) hardly anyone plays rugby league outside of Wigan and a few other Northern towns so the fact that Wigan RL produces lots of players is not impressive, it is entirely logical given that statistically not many people outside of the M62 corridor ever bother to even learn how to play the game
2 ) By contrast, nearly every area of the country, indeed nearly every country in the world plays football therefore given a larger pool of players to select from, it is not inconceivable that football players may have originated from somewhere a little bit further afield than Thatto Heath or Woolston.
You seem to be trying to compare two completely different ball games, one of which you definitely know nothing about and I’m starting to have doubts about the other one.
see , its at this point your bitterness starts to pour out , the entire paragraph is just nonesenseYou might want to learn how to spell the word before accusing people of talking it.
It seems you also missed the English class at school where punctuation, capitalisation and basic grammar were covered.
You might be a big hitter on your own little bubble of a board where the world begins and ends at the Thelwall Viaduct but please remember there is a big bad world out there.
I personally see the fact that so many RL players come from Wigan as a complete failure on the sport’s part to expand beyond it’s natural heartlands ( well a handful of Northern towns where it is nearly as big as football )
I’m sure you would love to see Africans, Americans – North and South, Europeans, Asians let alone Geordies, Cockneys, Brummies and Midlanders playing top class rugby league but the fact is no-one is interested.
And no-one is interested in the nonsensical, hysterical drivel you seem to be spouting on here. Go back to your cavemen friends and tell each other that someone cares. We don’t
I went yesterday and he scored an absolute cracker but he did not have the great game I been reading about on the other post. He did contribute which he has not done very often but we were playing a poor side who gave us room to play.So you read the other post and thought “Oh look that’s a thread about Jordi Gomez but it’s not good enough for me so I’ll ignore it and start a completely new one of my own” :?
