Well these lads from Hong Kong are lashing out the money with the signing of Anthony Pilkington. He’s not played a single game this season and started 3 games last season. Must be match fit ready to be thrown into battle!
Suppose won’t be many players played for atop 4 club in Champions league in Championship so hard to say Powell isn’t amongst top few in league.
Absolute joke if Grigg goes. Fans love him and he’s never let us down.
Makes sense. Keep Vaughan who has scored 7 goals in last 60 games with Grigg scoring 52 goals for us equating to a goal every 2.5 games.
Timid and lacking confidence. Did we really scout that?
Harry Kane scored 12 in 40 for Leyton Orient and Millwall but he turned out OK. What have we got to lose at minute? It’s like we won’t give our academy lads a chance. All coaches rave on about Joe Gelhardt who plays for England too but he can’t get on bench either. If he’s worse than that Lopes I can’t see why likes of City and United would want to sign him?
May as well close academy as we just bring in youngsters from other clubs. The whole place needs a spark and it’s like we are frightened to give these lads a chance. Hardly banging em in are we?
With Callum Lang just popping in winner at Premier league Fulham the mind boggles.
Obviously this forum is frequented by one man and his dog. Don’t get feeling in stands that fans want change and most lads i know are still behind Cook. Few on here talk a cracker but don’t see them making their voice heard during games. Be amazed if Cook wasn’t given more time but wish some showed passion they show on social media when watching their team.
Last year Paul Cook gave us one of the best seasons Wigan Athletic have had with some great football on show, beating amongst the best in the country. This year was gonna be tough and he hasn’t spent a fortune. Coming into the new year he has us 4 points clear of relegation despite an horrific run of injuries. If at the end of the season we finish 8 points clear would people still complain? We have always been a club that has given Managers time. This is an ex player who so far has been great for the club. Where is the loyalty?
The lads disappointed we aren’t in top 6 I think. Bloody rubbish Cook. The league was there for the taking!
How anyone could think our forward line was adequate prior to the season is beyond me. Grigg may have been worth a shot but Vaughan who had guided Sunderland to relegation was always likely to be out of his depth. We don’t score away from home much and now this has spread to our home form.
6 points away from bottom 3 at the half way mark is fine by me given the investment Cook has had at his disposal and it remains to be seen if our new benefactors will invest in the squad. Powell will almost certainly be on his way in January and we will need reinforcements for sure. Cooks constant stubbornness in not playing Callum is absolutely baffling and I cannot for the life of me see why he was signed.
However, to compare him to Joyce and Mcckay is ignorance and he deserves better given results since he took over. We have probably spent one of the least in the division, have amongst the smallest crowds and anywhere near mid table should be considered a massive success given recent form when we have been promoted.
Top performance. Defence solid. Midfield worked their balls off. Threatened up top. Faith restored.
Been bang average for weeks. Time for a change.
Enjoyed that report pal. Good for you!
Ill judge at xmas. We have played top few sides in league last three games with majority of effective players out (Powell, Grigg, Massey and Jacobs). Games coming up look winnable up to west brom away so lets see where we are then!
