Shut up you Mo…… If he thinks its good enough it is… just remember … hes a pro manager not a dick who goes on champ man and think hes god….d1ck
So all managers are right? Bollocks!!!!!!!!!!!!
He ain’t going to come out and say the squad is shite now is he even if thats what he thinks.
Im a bit too young for Whickers whatever but….
Wafc1932 Is a custard…
Martinez should get the time he needs as swapping managers all the time doesnt work… I do like him saying he’s happy with the squad because that means he thinks it is good enough and the players must just need to adapt (Bar jordi gomez – very disappointed) … And if Martinez thinks Kapo and King can do a job then good…and if they do its a good mover for wigan… stop moaning and let us get on with the season…pr1ckYour happy with Bob saying this squad is good enough!!!!!!!!!!
What planet are you on? this squad is no were near good enough and if Bob thinks so we have real problems. So you didn’t see the opening day anhialation of Aston Villa, having the upper hand against Everton for 85 minutes (were very unlucky to lose), kept with and could have got something from Manchester United for 55 minutes.
God only knows how we lost to Wolves and we blanked West Ham out of the game at the DW, plus won it.
What haven’t you not seen?????
As for hearing something, what do you think you should hear?????
Were still only a point behind were I thought we’d be at this stage. I’ll worry more if we don’t start getting points from Pompey, Burnley, Stoke, Brum, Bolton, Hull and such.
SAS, glass still half fulldont get carried away with the villa result -they missed some sitters even though we deserved to win, against wolves the missed 3 glorious chances before they scored and should have had a penalty in the second half-we were awful,
blackpool was a disgrace
united missed a panful before they scored then we just gave up
everton,i think that you have been listening to martinez’s spin on that,we were awful, having said that everton were as wellwest ham
we had 2 shots that day -they missed 3 free headers from set pieces and hit the post-and lets not talk about the back passes to kirkland that could of gone in,apart from all that it was the worst game of football for a long time at the JJB/DW, that was martinez’s beautiful football some on here have been raving about – just like today we were terrible in all those games-poor players and poor tacticsi am sorry but give me steve bruce and his long ball stuff any day if that is what the present incumbents are dishing up.
I may be yellow water but this post is so true ! we are going to struggle more than we have so far in Prem because the squad is quite simply not good enough ! These are plain simple facts ! Either accept it or spout your rose tinted glasses rubbish saying that wait till then and wait till that ! It is serious relegation stuff so wake up an smell the coffee !
Spot on mate we are in real trouble as this team and tactics would not have beaten our Championship team: Fact:
forgive me to have a pop but i really cant understand were he is supposed to be playing? is he our playmaker, supporting striker or what , seems to be floating around doing nothing, which leaves us virtually playing with 10 men. we need someone like bullard who always wants the ball and isnt scared to try different things. rodallaga is having to come back to get the ball as we have no link between defence and attack, well thats how it looks to me……. come on gomez dont be scared and want the ballHe is scared and doesn’t want the ball because he is no were near Premiership class. He is slow easily pushed off can’t tackle can’t head a ball does not look like a play maker as Bob said he would.
I have a question for all the Gomez fans what exactly does he contribute to the team?
that time to go fcuk off song, burnley singing it to mrs doubtfires black cats, did it originate at latics that one cos everyone is singing it now, class,
Nugent two goals, why didn’t we get him inBecause we are too slow.
Because we are too thick.
Because we have no decent ability in signing players as.
Because.
Nugent isn’t a good player Dave, trust me on this one.
He is a trouble maker; a p1ss head with a bad reputation for stalking teenage girlies and sending SMS photos of his own knob to them. He left Pompey because they wanted rid of the man. When he played for them last season he was woeful.
He’s done well today, but I’ll donate my right plumb to medical research if he scores more than half a dozen for the season.
I’d even go as far as saying I’d rather have King in the side.
I’d play with ten men rather than play King he is useless and Nugent will score more goals than Scotland so why did we not try and get him in?
If Hugo gets injured we are stuffed!!!!!!!!!!!
BBC: “Wigan boss Roberto Martinez is set to give midfielder Olivier Kapo a second chance to kick start his career at Wigan after he was seemingly on his way out of the club under former manager Steve Bruce.”
:o
Says a lot for his own midfield buys,
I agree with you!!!! If Kapo is even being considered it says alot about the quality of our squad. He and King have been an absolute disgrace since we signed them and would never wear the shirt again if it were up to me.
No.I just see football for what it is these days.
A joke. So far removed from reality.
That’s why I go the game, watch it, don’t shout, don’t sing, I will clap, but I don’t get carried away, or worked up, balling and shouting.
What’s the point? Will the referee or player actually turn round, stop, and shout “Hey you there, yes, your right”.
Balls.
Know wonder the DW is like a grave yard I thought the idea of being a fan was to get carried away and shout and ball and sing in support of your team?
think gomez would be different again if we had some 1 who would put his foot in midfield and win the ball to give gomez more time on the ballYou have to make your own time and space in the Premiership thats if your good enough?
I can tell you all this and this is from a very reliable source!Koumas never ever even wanted to come to Wigan he was playing them off against Everton because he thought the Blue scousers were in the mix for him guess what they blew him out and he used Wigan as his get out of jail card.
He is a useless waste of time! Sell him to rhyl for a fiver!
We would be lucky to give him away as I would like to bet he is on good wages. He’s absolutely stealing a living if I had been as bad at my job as he’s been since we signed him I would be signing on.
Last season, after four games, Bruce had only managed to get us 4 points so perhaps some people may gain a sense of perspective after reading this link.
http://www.notapatchon.net/user-blogs/83-latics-soapbox/1935-was-steve-bruce-really-that-goodSo let’s see how Roberto compares with his predecessors after 10 games not 4.
2005/6, 22 points Jewell
2006/7, 14 points Jewell
2007/8, 10 points Hutchings
2009/10, 8 points Bruce (in relegation zone)Some teams do take time to settle into a new season. Take for instance last season, after ten games the league table was as follows:
18 Wigan Athletic 8 points
19 Bolton Wanderers 8 points
20 Tottenham Hotspur 6 pointsYet in May all three teams finished well outside the relegation zone.
8 Tottenham Hotspur 51 points
11 Wigan Athletic 45 points
13 Bolton Wanderers 41 pointsSome of the bookies paid out on Stoke City being relegated well before the end of last season yet the Britannia Stadium crowd got behind the team so consequently, in May, they finished a creditable 12th place on 45 points.
So it’s not how a team starts the season that matters it’s where it finishes in May that really counts.
Good post just not sure Bob has as much quality in his signings as Bruce did.
Hope I’m wrong.
Going up obviously fulfilled Whelans dream, but how many Wigan fans are happy? The day of any promotion looks good, but do you think of who you have left behind? Games against say Tranmere would be special, but there are none of those games any more. Going to the match, do you ever feel happy or actually meet Wigan fans who are happy? This weekends home game, just on the off chance we win the game 6-0 you would still see home fans diving for the exits with 10 mins of the game left wouldnt you? Be completely honest if you do it and say why, but if not you must still see it and do you believe we deserve a premiership club with support like this? We can see the chairmans losing interest and if as looks the case the fans are losing interest, do we really have a future?I’ve watched Wigan for about 32 years and remember the bad times with Bill Kenyon when it didn’t look like we would still have a football club. Now week after week we entertain world class teams and players, it does not get any better than this.
If we go down would you not want us to try and get promoted or would you want another relegation so you can see us play Tranmere again?
We will never be able to compete with the big boys, but as long as we stay up each year and give 2 fingers to all our critics who cares. We are in the Premiership on merit and for me long may it continue as it’s only when we are not there we will realise how great it really was!!!!!
I agree with the west ham players comment and i think saturday could be a great game between 2 footballing sides i just dont think that we are not good enough!I think we may have lost a bit of strength in the team but we are definatly stronger outside the first 11 than we were!
I just cant help but feel that going forward yeah we are pacy but weve got no power or strength and can be knocked off the ball too easy! Id kill for a Carlton Cole to be leading the line!
I know we called a truce on negativity but at least talk a bit of sense. All the players who left would have walked into this team so I ask how are we stronger? Cause I just don’t see it, Sorry!!!!!!
From someone who know’s what they are talking about as oppose to cyber bods talking whale on here all dayhttp://www.wigantoday.net/latics/Jackso … 5614205.jp
Its going to take time.
I don’t care what Matt Jackson and the rest of football thinks about Bob as our manager. Opinions are not worth a carrot. Results will determine how good a Wigan boss Bob will be and hopefully for all our sakes he will be a great boss and we will stay up this year. If not he will face the consequences although DW has said he wont sack him!!!!
But he says alot of things.
What? It’s not really free? They don’t get paid to play do they?Christ, no wonder football clubs are in debt if you have to pay transfer fees, AND pay the players to play for you.
Bloody rubbish Whelan, get it sorted. Get your hand out of your pocket and find us players who will never ever leave, and who will pay us money for the privilege of playing.
Not sure were your coming from with this post I think a signing wether free or for 10m would be welcomed on here as long as he is better than what we have. And in Scotlands case that wouldn’t be to hard would it!!!.
I agree with Faz – I don’t think we have a bad squad. I am worried if something happens to Hugo as we seem a bit light up front, but to be honest, playing 1 up front every game is fairly light anyway.
I am sure Whelan doesn’t want to go down on purpose, but, it is strange some of the things that have happened…£12M for Turner at Hull, but we get £6M (rising to £8M) – How is Turner £4M better?
….Crazy WAFC…
Our squad is the worst i’ve seen for many a year our Championship team would have murdered this team. We have sold quality and replaced them with whale Championship players who just are not good enough.
People keep saying there are worse teams in the Premiership than us?
Who!!!!!
Hindley – Out of the players we have let go, I think we have replaced them with just as good or better:
Palacios – Thomas (I think this guy will be a blinder in a few games)
Cattemole – Diame (As above)
Valencia – Sinclair (gets more involved with the game, looks sharp, just needs to gel)
Heskey – Scotland…….err..give him time?!
Brown – Gomez – He will be the Arteta of WiganSo all in all, where do you think we have replaced players (Who I think we have got over the odds money wise for – except Cattemole) who are deemed unsuitable? (OK, I will give you Scotland!)
Have you been watching football on T.V. Wilson has been out standing for Spurs and was for us. Diame first impressions are good but he and Henry Thomas will take time to settle so the jury is out. Scotland will never make it in the Premier League he ain’t good enough and no amount of time will make any difference. Sinclair is a young kid with great potential but not sure he is what we need for a relegation dog fight which I’m sure we will be in.
But what I really cannot understand is the love affair some people on here have with Gomez. He is slow can’t tackle his distribution is poor he can’t head a ball for me he adds nothing to the team, HE IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH.
The Gomez fan club will no doubt hammer me for this but he wouldn’t have got in the team last year, Fact:
