It’s not the players fault cupwinners. It falls on one man only. The 4 2 3 1 system we play is/was not designed to hoof the ball up to the big mon to head it into no mans land. Everyone else can see this tactic isnt working, bar one.
Cook’s style of play is very reminiscent of Warren joyce style – boring, negative & scared to actually attack & have a go. I wouldnt mind us actually losing every week (well I would) if we just threw caution to the wind & went for it.
As we used to chant at springy park all those years ago – “Attack, Attack, Attack, Attack, Attack!”
Long term obviously not but Warnock is the managerial equivalent of International Rescue…….one things for sure we wouldn’t be playing league 1 next season !!!

I don’t think it’s fair to say our club is horrible at the moment. Granted the first team is in a bad place, but, we have two junior teams that are doing very very well, scoring goals, and playing good stuff. Some but not all of these youngsters will make the first team (honestly they will) and when they do they will be our own.
We don’t know the future for Cook but we should remember there still is a lot of potential in the club if we look after it.
We also do a hell of a lot in the community for people of all ages and people who are less fortunate. Aside from our unique history, there are many reasons to be proud and optimistic about our amazing club.[/quote]

Truth is I do like Cook & seriously want him to do well. I feel at the moment however, that his persistence with his hoofball tactics which clearly aren’t working, plus the atrocious away record will eventually lead to his downfall I’m afraid. We have two vital away’s coming up. Lose those & that really should be that.

Theres no chance Gerrard would come to us.Id consider Martin O’Neill, if he would come. Or Mark Hughes. Would I consider Roy Keane? Maybe. He wouldnt take any gump.

he won plenty challenges in the air but the so called attacking mid were miles from behind him.This is an area that cook seriously needs to address.
I’m afraid lobbing it up to the big lad is not the answer, surely Cook can see it. If he has no other option but drop Moore.It would only work if someone was alongside him or further up the field to run onto the flick ons, like a Lowe, Gelhardt, Windass. Sadly no one is there with him & that’s why it ain’t working. This is one area which I hope cook can see isnt working as you say.
