I reckon it’s down to the keeper guessing right at the end of day and that’s what the Arsenal keeper himself has admitted to.
Obviously the keeper has to go the right way. He can go the right way and still be beaten though if the penalty has enough power and is placed well. See the Gomez penalty for example.
The first two penalties were terrible penalties simple as that.
Having seen the Collison pen again BTW I still think Fabianski moves off his line before he’s taken it.
Still doesnt mean they’ll sing it. It was 100% in response to beating us after we’d been singing it all game.
I joined in. I just used the correct terminology of winners.
I think Maloney late in ET would have been the 3rd sub if it wasn’t for the Ramis injury.
Yesterday was his chance to show he is a Man Utd player and he failed.
I imagine Gomez was the 5th taker meaning he also didn’t have the balls to take a penalty.
Care to elaborate?
Not the team I would have gone with but the performance was superb.
I also would have made different changes but again the performance was superb.
I imagine the penalty takers opted to take one as opposed to Rosler telling them too. The body language after the misses changed and I think we knew we’d lost. Was it just me or was Fabiansli a mile off his line for the 2nd?
Excellent cup run and performance. So so proud.
Didn’t celebrate our first 2 goals. Didn’t see the point in the first, thought he hadn’t given the second.
I made up for it with the third though :D
Wasn’t it a clash of heads? You don’t have to leave the field after a head injury do you?
The rules state that in the case of a serious injury a player should leave the field of play, and only return on the referee’s signal. The only exception are for goalkeepers.
No mention of any special provisions for head injuries – in fact rather the opposite I would have thought.
I’m sure there is something you don’t leave the field for but I may be wrong and probably am.
When do we win the Cup?
Well, clearly, as with Edinburgh’s european adventure, these are optional extras to be taken in any year you like.
Also, if you do win promotion from the Championship, you should be allowed to “stick” and not go up. It’s probably pushing it a bit, though, to be allowed to refuse relegation, it that happens, and stay up.
All those in favour…
You could twist and take the place of one of the playoff sides.
For example….we finish 2nd and “stick”. 3rd are then promoted in our place meaning that 18th in the Premier League can twist and attempt to win the playoffs.
At the moment we are one of the big spenders in the league with such a big squad and players in it. Once the pennies run out from the premiership we would be in trouble with our low fan base. So premiership is the aspiration. Also if we had no desire to end up in teh premiership, just surviving in the Championship, it would get dull.
Yay, we agree on something! ;)
Ideally, I would like us to be on a three-year cycle:
Year 1 – Promotion to the Premier
Year 2 – Consolidation in the Premier
Year 3 – Relegation to the Championship…… and back to Year 1.
Alternatively, I’d also be OK with a four-year cycle:
Year 1 – Promotion to the Premier
Year 2 – Consolidation in the Premier
Year 3 – Relegation to the Championship.
Year 4 – Championship play-offs but knocked out in the semi-final…… and back to Year 1.
Not too much to ask, is it?
Could you not organise this with your contacts at the club or does he not work on the food counter anymore?
Aaron Ramsey is set to start for Arsenal in Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final against Wigan. The 23-year-old midfielder was a substitute on his return to the squad after three months out in last weekend’s loss to Everton while Lukasz Fabianski will start in goal.
But manager Arsene Wenger says Kieran Gibbs, Tomas Rosicky and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are all doubts while Mesut Ozil could be back next Saturday and Laurent Koscielny could be back for Tuesday.
“I’m expecting everyone to contribute because we have a lot of experience. We have played great games in the FA Cup” said Wenger. “We are still in a position where we can have a good season and that’s what we’re focusing on.”
From a fan point of view I prefer the Championship but unfortunately we can’t survive in this league with the crowds we get etc so we need to be in the Premier League.

So many players were recent arrivals. They didn’t know each others styles, and couldn’t anticipate what others might do. So it was difficult to build any flowing moves.Balls. They train together every day FFS.
If several of them arrived yesterday then maybe but they’ve all been here at least a month.
