Awful game today yet won 3-0 ! I got the impression that they were told to drop a little deeper after taking a 1-0 lead ! How small was there keeper !!

    I’ve seen a lot worse!!

We played some great football in the 1st half.

3 points is the most important thing though.

Tyias Browning – looked very promising :)

One good cross, one poor cross.Yep looked OK.

A solid steady performance today. We fully deserved the win.

    Onwards and upwards !!

One thing that has probably not crossed Mutley’s bitter brain is the reason we set the lowest post war attendance record for a team defending the cup may well have something to do with the fact that Wigan are the smallest town club to win the FA cup since the war. Small club, small town, small fan base it’s not rocket science!

    Smaller than Wimbledon??????

We’re 11th in the Championship. Current Cup holders or not no one else gives a toss about “Little Wigan”.

Sky certainly don’t – we’ve been on live once this season – at Blackpool.

Contrast that with all the times the ex – 70’s/80’s 1st Division clubs that are on every week and they haven’t been in the top flight for years. However they are still “big clubs”.

We might have been up there for 8 seasons AND won the FA Cup but quickly forgotten by the media.

If we can get into the play off places though and go on a really long unbeaten run then things may improve media wise – but don’t hold your breath. B)

It was the same as Bolton. 2-0 up and cruising, then foot off the gas let them start playing and bang, bang 2-2!!!

We’re lucky to get another chance as the last 10 minutes it was only them that looked like scoring.

    We desperately need a striker !!! :(

    No I don’t !!!!!

Can’t wait to see us start our defense of the FA Cup tomorrow !!!

I think we should be concentrating on our impotence upfront at present and the fact we are still in the lower half of the championship rather than the fate of our ex manager.

    Some people need to focus.

Lock this bloody thread please somebody !!!!!!!

We desperately need someone with an eye for goal be it up front or from midfield.

The fact Holt didn’t even get on the pitch today speaks volumes I think. At least Fortune managed to stay on his feet but he was hauled off after 55 minutes !!!!!

I was really pleased preseason when we signed those 2.However they are both past it it appears.

Fingers crossed Uwe can sign someone half decent in the window.

A little lad sat behind us yesterday asked his dad – “Dad. What does Athletic mean?”

Any chance the mods could remove Coyles mug shot off the Homepage wallpaper please.

I’m sick of seeing it when I log on. :(

Was Holt injured? Not even on the bench last night.

in reply to: Rosler’s first XI in a 4-3-3 #124708

Well as Holt is apparently still in the UK “getting Fitter/Fatter* it’s back to the drawing board chaps !!

    * = delete as appropriate.

Was three at the back a safety first tactic? No, not at all. A bigger budget and a larger squad would have helped.

Perfectly evidenced by Wednesdays and todays performances. Better players.

It was just like watching uas last season part of the time this afternoon.McCarthy was very influential.

I know loads of Evertonians. They all love Roberto now and think young James is a great signing. :)
Aye, we gave him un-conditional love and then he dumped us for a big fat wallet. JUDAS !
:woohoo:
