Ball boys wasting time has gone on for decades. Kicking the ball boy isn’t the answer, though and the laws of physics say that’s exactly what he did. A ball girl at Blackburn a few years ago did exactly the opposite and returned it quickly to Liverpool, who went on to score seconds later. She was ripped for doing it.

A question to you all. ‘Tics are a few minutes away from a crucial win and the ball goes into the crowd when the team are desperately defending. Do you throw the ball back to the opposition quickly or do you take your time?

city for me. I will never forget when we were skint in the seventys and peter swailes brought his city team to springfield for a friendly to raise much needed funds for the club he even paid for a new strip for the tics. top bloke

I think that was the first ‘tics game I ever saw, if it’s the one I think. I still loathe Shitty with a passion, though, and the sheer utter arrogance of their fans and the cheating of Goater just solidified my absolute hatred of them, so, in answer to the question, I hope United rub their faces in the dirt and leave them crying for another missed chance after spending billions on their team.

You’d only play him if there was a benefit to the team and I’d say there’s far more benefit in giving someone like McManaman a game, who hasn’t already decided he’s going to waltz off in the summer.

Don’t you just not love double negatives?

            I can’t not say I don’t.

We have no money available to spend. Who would come in on those terms? Just accept the last few years and look forward to being more competitive in games next season.

We’ve been walked all over and made to look like chumps by blackpool, notts county twice, cyrstal palace and swindon during martinez’s reign, you can also add lucky wins against hull, preston and swansea reserve team, WHAT ON EARTH makes you think this buffoon will make us more competitive next season ?
Where did I say we’d have the same manager next season?

It’s not really an issue. We don’t have the money available to buy big, so we’re likely to be buying Championship-type players anyway, whether we survive or go down.

It’s very winnable and I’d much rather we play QPR today than in two weeks when they’ll have recruited more players. A defeat would be unthinkable, but I think we have the edge and will nick it 2-1.

Peter Atherton exuded class. We’ve had some good ones over the years, but Atherton’s head and shoulders clear for me.

peter atherton played for the latics old boys XI against ashton athletic in the emma hoolin charity match and looked as good and as fit as he was 20 years ago, somethings never change.

sorry one thing does – he scored a cracker of a goal that night 35 yard thunderbolt, he never did that in his career ;)
Sell the family silver? Who to? Rodallega hasn’t done himself or us any favours this season, so his value is falling by the day. Diame has health problems, which will downgrade his value. McCarthy seems to have hit a wall since his injury, so again his value is less than it could/should have been. Moses hasn’t really pushed on like we all hoped he would. All that means the likelihood is that any sales would be at below the value we’d want and can you imagine the howls if we sold Rodallega for a million?

This is basically the same Arsenal team that destroyed us at the DW.

It’s swings and roundabouts. Are we as good as Chelsea because we drew with them?
According to the league table Standish we ain’t as good as anyone else.
Quite.

All I’m saying is, Arsenal lose to Swansea, yet Swansea could look shyte in the next game and get humped by Sunderland. That’s the way it works. It doesn’t suggest Sunderland are better than Arsenal.
But it does say that Swansea can beat the big teams and we can’t, at least so far this season. Swansea have got more points from beating Arsenal than we got for drawing with Liverpool and Chelsea.

goodpost Couldnt agree more .I would like to continue being Wigan Athletic , but in the Prem please!

I would love us to stay in the Premier League, but not at any cost.
I’d love us to stay in the top division playing good football and not start every single season knowing it’s going to be a relegation fight. Of course, if we were playing good football consistently, we wouldn’t always be in a relegation fight.

I’m more worried about QPR next week. 0-3 City.
