Wayne Rooney isn’t a public servant, so he will be paid whatever his club and sponsors feel is fit and is beneficial in bringing money into their organisation.
Usain Bolt is paid £38K per second for running, Bruce Willis $130K per minute for acting, and Oscar De La Hoya $1.4 million per minute to fight.
They all attract viewers and their money.
If you don’t like it, give all your extra cash to charity instead of spending it on watching sport, watching movies, listening to music etc.
People in the entertainment industry are always paid more because they have a unique and saleable talent. If not, we’d erect grandstands inside hospitals and charge to watch nurses at work.

Just cos folk are willing to pay it dunt make it right, esp with so many clubs running at a loss or paying off massive debts, so not actually bringing in money to their clubs.
Utd could choose not to pay him £300k as there is plenty of talent out there who command less. Wouldn’t be so bad if some money trickled down the league – Rooney is getting more in a week than a league 2 club gets in a year.I don’t begrudge the players a penny, provided they earn it.??? What, so the draw is made while one game is in play, one is still yet to be played that day and one more on Monday? Surely that could impact team selection, performances and results??
Get over it. Most folk lost interest in us the day after we won the cup. Have you ever cared about another club’s defence of their trophy? Our name on the cup is recognition enough.

You’d be forgiven for putting money on that draw. Getting to the semis that route would be poetic justice and make a nice sequel to the movie script that Bob compared our cup win last year to.

Read an interview with a Brentford player a few weeks back who said that earlier this season when they’d lost. 4 games in a row Uwe had a clear the air / cards onth table session with his squad. One of the things they raised was his rotation policy and he immediately started playing a regular 11. As soon as he did that they went on a 7-8 game unbeaten run, only drawing once.
Doesn’t look like that learning has sunk in though and probably won’t while we continue to get results.
My guess is that he always had Boro down as a draw at best and was therefore willing to risk the changes – and will revert to his “A team” to go get the points vs lowly Charlton.With a little more intelligent argument, we could reach 1,000 posts this season.Believe!
