VAT, I think our humour-bypassed friend was talking to me. But I wouldn’t worry about him; I’m not.

      At last! Someone gets it.
Brilliant side-stepping of Micky C’s post.

Hmmm, hard to say Griff, if money was no object Gianlucca Vialli, or M.O.N, but I wouldn’t mind one of Hoddle or Souness taking over, Souness only on a short-term basis mind.

Knowing us though we’d probably end up with Tony Adams or something.

I still think the un-spoken one will turn it around in time for the 2-0 defeat to Wolves. :D

        Do I get a pint?

If he does go, and let’s be honest it’s looking likely, who would we want coming in. With us having a ready made replacement in Moses, we could use the money to buy Tuncay.

With Mr Whelan pocketing the rest.

I kinda agree with Mr Cornflake about not caring if he goes, but I don’t see the point in him joining a club like Sunderland, Stoke or Birmingham who’ll all struggle to finish top ten this season.

I said something similar about this last week, think it would be a class deal. A straight swap would be a good deal IMO, if we can get something like 5 mill on top of that, it would, for me, represent some of the best business Wigan’s ever done or likely to do.

As touched on by Griff, I agree that Hugo is a great player, but he’s a tad wasted on the wing, and Moses can easily slip into that position, (another ooo errr) if the deal’s there, a forward line of Tuncay and Boselli would be a match for most teams in the league.

If the defence gels quickly  , we’ll be looking good.

In saying all that, Pulis would be daft to sell him, but I think he’s not really his type of player, he’d certainly fit into our style of play.

Looking forward to next week. 8-)

Wigmon – Tuncay is more of a striker than a midfielder. Think he’d be good behind Boselli…

              Oooo errrrrr.

I agree with Tyldesley that Moses would be good playing behind Boselli, in the hole as everyone puts it. He played in a more central role for Palace and scored some good goals playing in that position. But I also think that N’Zogbia will be sold before the start of the season, so Moses’ position could end up invariably being stuck on the right, which would be no bad thing.

It brings us back to the Gomez dilemma, unless we sign another striker i.e Suazo or whatever, it could end up being that Gomez is given another chance. For me he is too slow, but I remember his first game for us against Villa away, he was brilliant in that game, playing in that same position. After that, for some reason it just didn’t work, however with a bit more belief and a bit more speed of thought on his part, he could make the position his own.

I’m all for giving him another go, however if he stinks like he did for the most part of last season, for me he’s got to go. He should be used to the League now, know that he’s got to be quicker on the ball, if he can add that to the skill he possesses, he could be a good little player for us.

Is this Ronnie Stam any relation to Jaap?

Like his younger sister, or owt? :?

That Mrs Stam has apparantly just arrived at the club for her medical.

                  Could be interesting. :?

That, for me, would be a tremendous bit of business.

That, for me, is why it won’t happen ;)
Very true. He’d be a blinding player for us IMO. Any news on this Suazo fella, did he play at the WC? If we’re preparing 7 mill+ bids for players something tells me one of Hugo and Charles will be off.

                    T’was just the sun though.

                      Another thought of the day.

‘Who discovered we could get milk from cows, and what did he think he was doing at the time?’

Im not so sure about Beattie plus 7mill for Hugo, but if Mr Pulis is still intent and interested on buying him what about he offers the cash plus Tuncay. That, for me, would be a tremendous bit of business.

It’s actually alright, some aspects are wrong though, whilst it’s a stereotype to think that hooligans are all Fred Perry, cap wearing unemployed idiots, in the end thats all it is. Well they are idiots.

I did a dissertation on this at Uni, it was actually quite interesting stuff. (Just the research mind) You’d be suprised as to what some so-called hooligans do for a living, and I reckon now that its not really a massive problem over here as compared to the likes of Italy and as you touched on Argentina.

At least you had a pop.

I dont have a clue TBH, nobody strikes me as an obvious choice.

That’s fair comment, but as for Bramble v Caldwell, I’d think I’d prefer the latters’ more up and at ’em, aggressive attitude than Bramble’s more laid back approach.
You never know though, the captaincy could be just the thing to bring Bramble out of his shell so to speak. I wouldn’t have either of em to be honest, as their both prone to the odd clanger, and their form and temperament in the said game could dip as a result, summat u dont want your captain having.

Whats reckon to McCarthy as vice captain? Think if we can keep hold of him for long enough, he’ll be a real player for us.

I think Caldwell is also prone to the odd concentration lapse so if people are ready to give this mon the Captaincy then surely Bramble should be worth a shout n all. Yes he shouts and organises well but he isn’t our best defender and if Alcaraz signs isn’t guaranteed to start so I wouldn’t have him as Captain.

Very young n all that, but what about McCarthy. I dont have a clue TBH, nobody strikes me as an obvious choice.

If Gohouri can force his way into the team think he’d be a good shout.

Huddersfield I think. Last time this happened they apparently had to move their game to Widnes or summat daft like that.
