Why is Darikwa even getting picked? And captain? He is dire. If ever a professional footballer was a fraud, its this man. Stealing a living. Been bombed out of every club he’s been at. Truly an awful player.

Neither keeper is good enough either. Tbh, Im not bothered about any of the players, apart from probably Asgaard who, under a decent manager, will do well.
The club is in a really bad way, the squad is a shambles…a mess. Too many injury prone types in it…made of paper.

I already dont think we’ve made the right appointment…as in the right appointment for Wigan Athletic at this moment in time. Its not about pretty football, its about effective football. We are shipping goals for fun and we don’t score enough…thats only going to end one way, whether we are Premier League or Sunday League. Toure conj g in and trying to get us playing more atyractive stuff…nah, his short term brief Should’ve been “get results anyway you can”, and then look at our style later or in the summer. Very naive what theyve done.
I dont think much of our owners, but I thought Brannigan was an experienced football man? Doesn’t seem like it. Nothing about our club impresses me at the moment though. No wonder fans are staying away…cant blame anyone.

We are very much IN THE SHIT.

Whilst it seems harsh to aim too much blame at KT, he was part of the problem the other night. That said, we could have Mourinho or Pep here and I don’t think even they could get anything out of this lot.

It seems we have got a bunch of players who arent that intelligent, or skilful. Take Max Power. Absolutely stealing a living. In his own head, he’s a good player. No, he really isn’t. Can’t get a free kick beyond a one man wall, and his corners are usually awful as well. He has GONE as a player. So has McClean. I’ve loved McClean, his passion and drive…but his legs have gone. Age has caught up with him and for his sake, the sooner he returns to Derry, the better. The whole anti IRA thing is becoming an unwanted sideshow. Its getting tiresome, as we have much bigger concerns.
Callum Lang, spends more time on the floor than anything. Lacks that final yard of pace and needs to be stronger. Needs to work with a sprint coach to gain that extra yard…it IS possible.
Tilt…playing out from the back is stuff of nightmares.

I am peurposely NOT going on Monday. Just because I am loathe to waste my last day off on this pathetic shambles. Its getting my head down that we are so poor and in all gonesty, I am not too sure we have made the right appointment. The chairman and owners, and Mal Brannigan have a lot of work to do. Im not even concinced Toure will last the season.

Brilliant tackle that would have been cleared by VAR had it been in the Premier League.

Two weeks in and we are already getting comments from managers and fans who think they have a ‘Divine Right’.

I think Leam was in a situation where he wqs cautious because he could have thrown caution to the wind and then seen us fall to a sucker punch.
The plus side is we looked the better side in the game. I watched from distance as cirrently away, but I was impressed with us. We just lacked a bit in the final third. All in all, not a bad first performance.

              Yes, shirt prices are ridiculous.

But…and not saying its right, its same across the board at whatever club you look at.

There will be people all over the country eho will be priced out of going to games this coming season. Cost of everything around it is a disgrace. No wonder non league football is getting more followers. You can go and watch a game and have a burger and a pint for £15. Some great food at some of these clubs as well. Have a google of ‘Avro FC matchday food’, some great food on offer. Thats just one example.

The DW needs a gold revamp with regard to matchday food and experience. I am excited by this new sports bar though in what was rigaletto’s. Hope its as good as it can be.

                4 ST renewed today.

Mine to piss a few people off.

Well done TAV, take no notice of the knockers lad, just make sure you enter the Guess The Gate Competition,

I’m still not excited about the new season, I just don’t want to see us struggle….

…then again I never missed a game when Kenny Swain was in charge, and that was light years lower than we are now.

I hope we do well and play some quality stuff, but I also think a few teams may play us off the park. But if we are beaten by a better side with good goals, I can take that. I always applaud any decent goal scored against us. Its the ones where we dont clear our box or let a poor goal in that I cannot abide.

New kit..has grown on me. But I think the sponsor is too big. And it does scream ‘Peterborough’!

                    15 to watch Liverpool u23?

Normally U23 games cost a fiver to get in. Sorry, anybody paying 15 next Tuesday are off their head.

Off the field, Latics are seriously lacking promotional work. I dont think theres enough empathy and understanding of the locals. Maybe this was lost when staff were made redundant? I don’t know. There seems to be a big gap between the club and the support at the moment. Was no need for £15 for the friendlies. Have the owners misread Wiganers? Do they think mass hoardes will trundle down on the back of last season? No chance. A great portion of locals are living on the breadline due to rise in living costs. Should’ve been a tenner at most.

I must have imagined the regular social media posts about last season and past goals against the sides we will play next season. Add to that a kit teaser from Talal and his regular Q&A sessions and I don’t think the club can be classed as silent exactly.

                      Then again….bloody rubbish Wigan.

Last season is gone. The recap videos have only been put out because theres nothing new to put out. We are literally about to play in a whole different level.

So last season is gone, but you want the club to post goals from years gone by (which they’ve done) to get you excited? Muppet.

First season since 86 Ive not renewed.

Good, fuck off and don’t come back.

                      Ooh you’re hard.

Yeah ok. Wouldnt want to associate with a prick like you anyway. Fucking gobshite keyboard warrior. Id knock you out if you said that to my face.

As I’ve said I’m already unavailable for some games, and more will crop up. So not going to commit to a ST I won’t use.

I have other reasons for not doing as well, which I don’t want to go into on here. But ultimately, I think I’ve just lost interest. You may find this hard to understand, but I didn’t really enjoy last season. I thought there were times when what I was watching was pretty dire. We made hard work of a lot of games and whenever we came up against any half decent side, we cocked up. We got very lucky at Cambridge and Fleetwood, who were just also-ran teams. We made Bolton look really good for half an hour and made Sunderland and Sheff Wed look like worldbeaters. It was a poor league and I wasnt impressed with us. I dont like that passing out of our own penalty box, at all. Do that this next season and we will come unstuck.
I just stopped enjoying it. I couldn’t lift myself to get excited about winning the title on the last day, never went to party in the park, never celebrated it.

Thats just my reality. I dont expect others to agree at all, but that says how mybinterest has waned. Not just Latics, football in general.

As I posted above, I’m not renewing for first time since 1986. Will go a game here and there. Will likely never struggle to get a ticket, lets be honest. I will see how things are at Christmas and maybe by a half season ticket if we are doing alright. I’m already unable to go to Preston and Blackburn games due to other commitments, and I think more will crop up as the season goes.

And some 3rd party club employee ghosting Q and A sessions for Talal…come on, you dont actually think Talal is sat there on his laptop do you? You must be gullible if you really do think that.

I’ve not seen a new kit teaser, anywhere.

Personally, I think its going to be a very hard season ahead and the club are taking a big gamble in giving it a shot with the players we’ve got. We struggled over the line last season, in what was a very poor League One. I think we could get of to a start that sees us like Rabbits in car headlights, if we aren’t careful. Gut feeling is it could take us 5 games or more into the season before we get any points onboard.
First season since 86 Ive not renewed. 4 of us havent yet, but the other 3 will be probably. I dont want the commitment because I know Im already missing certain games through work and other commitments. But ultimately I am just NOT excited at all about the coming season. We weren’t particularly strong at the back end of last season, and for me throughout a League One season we didnt exactly power our way to promotion. We will certainly have to up our tempo. I think we need players in to help us do that, because if we try and play that tippy tappy out of defence, slow tempo shite this season, we will get punished by cery clinical sides.

Not recruiting wisely could really come back to haunt us. We will see. I hope Leam is a strong enough character to speak up ifnwe do start off bad and looking short. In the grand scheme of things, these new owners havent chucked much money at things yet. Leam actually worked wonders to get that side together last season, for practically nothing. But the Championship is a different thing alltogether.

Well, football is a game of opinions.

Here is mine. The squad as it is, will struggle and I think we will have our arses served to us a good few times this season. I think we might have a shock against Preston, and certainly against Norwich too. I think we will then panic a little when we realise we are short

Its a worry that last season we were half the side without McClean in it. And this season he will be playing at a higher standard, a much higher standard. He won’t cope in that left wing back role as quicker teams and faster players will catch him out. Last season he struggled against Lyndon Gooch. I love McClean going forward though.

I think theres a bigger gap now between League One and The Championship, as Peterborough showed last season. A good, strong side in League One, they struggled badly in The Championship. Its a worry. We hardly blew a quite mediocre League One apart, didn’t we? We struggled against the more classier outfits, and also against well drilled sides such as Cambridge and Fleetwood. I am really worried how we will fair this coming season. Show faith to last seaons lads? There’s no place for sentiment in football. No room for ‘jobs for the boys’, they’re either good enough, or they aren’t.
Off the field, ultimately I think the club has let the euphoria of last seasons success ebb away. They haven’t kept momentum up. This could/should have been kept stoked to whet peoples appetites? Get a big multi clip of previous successes and goals against PNE, with a lively sound track and a big build up to the seasons opener. Chuck in some bit by bit new kit teasers also. We just arent doing enough/anything. Do a prize draw to win the mystery new shirt…or maybe a shirt signed by last seasons champions? Little things like that. I follow a lot of other clubs and watch what they’re up to with things like this. Latics have been silent. Matchday tickets? Maybe look at doing a ‘Five For £75’ book of 5 tickets, to entice those who can’t commit to a full season ticket.
Just ideas…ideas…ideas. We all just want whats best and to see us prosper.
