I wouldn’t be too concerned about what the BBC think. If they think harmless words are more serious then covering up a peadophile ring for the last 40 years then we all doomed.
Although i have always hated him at other clubs, It has to be Tony Pulis surely?
He get’s the respect of the dressing room, takes no shit and get’s results. If Dave Whelan really wants to get back to the premiership then he has to pay for Pulis. And he knows it…………….. But he will appoint Mackay or Hughton because they are cheaper.
Wigan Athletic needs a manager who isn’t afraid to admit when he has got things wrong and then trying not to rectify them by using the same pig headed tactics like Martinez did. Take away the F.A Cup and a 7 match run and it was 4 awful years, Hutchings did it and Jewell decided to just blame the fans instead. Rosler is in the same vein. Steve Bruce only changed things when he needed to or when someone went off form and he had easily the best squad assembled but Whelan wouldn’t let him progress. This squad is streets ahead of the rest of the league and there is no excuse that they are near the bottom, none at all. Calum McManaman on his day is the best winger in the country, i don’t care what anyone says so why is he never fit and in the wrong positions.
He can pick and chose when he wants to go to whatever game he feels like going to. What has it got to do with any of you lot, or your opinions of how good a supporter he is? You don’t have to attend matches to be a fan. There is no code book or set’s of rules as to qualify as a supporter. Fucking hilarious some of these posts. He has a voice and has a right to air his views like everyone else whether he goes or not.
Wigan Athletic fans club mafia on here, some more than others. If you have a different opinion you are a rugby, Man Utd or Liverpool fan. Some of you need to take your heads out of the sand and try to use your averagely small brains to to realize that you are just another person with an opinion and barracking, bullying and name calling just confirms that. The ones that think their opinion is more valid than others resort to these 3 things, a few in particular and just confirms that you are insecure and cowardly.
Jimmy Bullard was exactly the same, He wasn’t a very good footballer but he ran around like a headless chicken for 90 mins every game and never gave up and it seemed to inspire the rest of the team to work harder. That’s where Espinoza has an influence.
I wouldn’t read much into the Figeuroa signing. He is poo as it is but it’s a last ditch attempt by Rosler to get the fans back on side. Far too late though. He has pretty much the same squad as last year and has made some ‘improvements’. But they have gone backwards.
There is only one man who can save Wigan Athletic now (and possibly get them up this season)
Gentleman i give you Mr. Tony Pulis. Record speaks for itself and his success and stability speaks even louder. Keeping Rosler is a hiding to nothing and a mediocre mid table or worse finish.
Stop fretting, Whelan knows what he is doing.
Just want’s to hang around for one last season, sell the assets (best players) collect his last parachute payment then take it all and go. Thus leaving Latics in decline and tumbling back through the leagues in an oversized stadium.
The stadium has served it’s purpose now, He didn’t pay for it anyway so it’s quids in. He has taken about 600m of Sky’s money That was the plan since 1995.

Unfortunately my opinion is right because that’s what it is. My opinion. You chose to believe the rhetoric you read and hear that is opposite to my opinion. No problem, We have always differed on this. I believe what i read and hear too but it doesn’t run parallel to what you read and hear.
But that’s a side issue. The main point i was making and the only reason i posted was my view on the transfer of McArthur and the replacements.
If anyone is still doubting whether the powers that be at WAFC don’t care and are willing to let this great club of ours slip down the leagues, then, after this deadline day all their worries should have faded away.

As you are all aware i am of the firm belief that Whelan is ONLY in it for the money. And i stand by that view, However selling an ‘ok’ midfielder for 7m and replacing him with a proven holding player and 3 potential superb signings is a great bit of business for the good of the club not Whelan.
The fact that McManaaman is still at the club astonishes me. He is (in my opinion) the best winger in the country and i can’t believe he is still in the championship. The current squad is the strongest for a few years. Gotta give Coyle some credit, Among the crap he brought in, He also brought a few very good players. He just didn’t have a clue how to manage them.
Caldwell – One of the worst defenders i have seen playing for Wigan (for the level) A real cringe moment when either the ball is approaching him or someone looks as though they are going to go around him, Then comes the penalties, fuck ups and red cards.
As a coach, I think he will be a revelation, He has that kind of determined no bullshit attitude that will make him a brilliant coach and future manager.

That was probably the case for me and LMB falling out, but all that has been put to bed. At least he can spot a wind-up when he sees one.
My aggression on this forum usually came from some other people’s inability to form a decent argument on many issues, not just the Martinez issue. On that particular subject though, many people could never manage anything more coherent than “Martinez is a useless Spanish prick” and that was the sort of post that would get my back up and end up with me launching from both barrels.
Anyway, those on this forum that do know me will tell you my real persona bears little resemblance to the one displayed on here. I met a bloke I used to play football with over ten years ago at a funeral last week and he said something along the lines of “you’re a piss-taking bastard on that Cockney Latic, they don’t know you very well, do they?”
Still, as I said yesterday, it’s probably time for a new leaf to be turned. I probably have gone too far with some of the stuff I have said. However, I still seriously doubt that anyone has left this site because of me, but if they have, then more fool them and it really says more about them than it does me, as someone else has already said.[/quote]
Wasn’t expecting the last paragraph but fair play to you for typing it. Griff i have been hanging around CL since it’s infancy and you were always a character. Think your username then was V455Griff or summat. Correctly you pull people up when they are blatantly wrong and i would consider you to have a considered approach, However, as i stated in the last post, When someone says something that you are strongly siding for you turn into ‘one of us’ and the academical hierarchy you take kind of goes out of the window. I will be honest with you, One of the main reasons i still view this forum as a guest is because of you and a couple more who, When are approached on certain subjects, have a really good view on things and it makes for an interesting read. If i didn’t find it interesting i wouldn’t read the forum or even follow you on facebook. It’s the petty bickering that pisses me off on here. It isn’t a case of having a different point of view on here any more, It’s like everyone is waiting to jump onto someone for something they have said. The rugby posts are just desperately diabolical, They are the ones that get under my skin because there is just no need.
